Other than Tarantino, name an A List Director who casts black people and women in major roles?

:beli: Since you are a Caucasian, let us school you on the fukkkery that people of color have to endure. Sometimes we have to work with people that are known racists, people we don't like just for a pay check. In Hollywood, I bet it is like that as well. Hollywood is general is competitive even for white actors. There are many directors who are notorious to work with (Fincher) but people work with them anyway. As far as black actors, the parts are even harder to come by. Samuel L. Jackson, is basically getting what he can.
so QT is a known racist? and samuel l jackson is so starving for acting work that he would agree to play the biggest c00n in cinema history in django for a known racist?

if there isnt already one, there needs to be a racism in hollywood thread on here. i know its been talked about before (with actual quotes from people) but i dont remember if there is actually a thread for it. it exists

but luckily QT is different, see the video below, he loves us so much he even gets to talkin like us (or how he thinks we talk :mjlol: ) when he's in our presence :blessed:

:russ:@ that video.

It reminds of this podcast I was listening to with Wyatt Cenac. He was talking about how he first met Robin Williams, and Robin was all like "what's up? how is hanging my brutha" all super jive and shyt. And Wyatt shut that shyt down by just "Hello sir, it is nice to meet you".
You can tell all them actors from Django are like this motherfukker a goddamn weirdo.

:what:How would I know? I don't know the man. But I do feel he has an idea how he wants black people to look on screen. Almost like a fetish.

Samuel L. Jackson been hunting down that Oscar for a loooooong time. He probably thought this was great role, that Oscar voters (which are 70% white males (fact)) would appreciate. :mjdrinking:

It was Tony Scott and it wasn't even close. Between 2004-2010 Denzel alone starred in 4 Tony Scott film. I guess Denzel working with Tony also led his brother Ridley Scott to cast Denzel in American Gangster.
Remember when Denzel made the same exact movie with Tony Scott only substituting the train for the subway. Or was it the other way around? We were scrolling through the channels the other day and unstoppable was on and we were like is this pelham or unstoppable? :heh:

i feel like there has to be some kinda understanding between samuel L and tarantino where he woulda cosigned that line :heh: i mean not as a fukkin character, in real life. i mean does samuel L really seem like a dude who would be like "yea that line seems cool :ehh:"

tarantino did have a black wife in the movie :skip:

There is nothing realistic about his dialogue. His signature style is the same as aaron sorkins. People dont talk like that in real life but its their quirky style of dialogue.

People dont go on rants about dead n word storages.

I have heard people talk like that to be real.

I remember this white lady at one of my old jobs, who I thought was pretty cool, out of no where started telling me how her landlord "ni---r rigged" her toilet the day before. She could have just said he did a poor job, but chose to say "n----r rigged".

i never heard that type of talk in the white collar world. But when I worked in blue collar job, I probably heard the world "n---r" almost every other day From either those oakies or the Mexicans. I wouldn't under estimate how racist people can be in the lower socioeconomic classes.
