I didn't watch season 2 but from what I understand he was a writer on that season.
But the character was saying similar shyt in season 1. So it's not as if he changed anything.
I dunno. Over all just a weird ass decision by the show runner. Then on top of all that Mr. Nancy was a fan favorite.
Fred.
Yeah, he's been saying that pro-black stuff since season 1. Almost all of the show's buzz was around his first scene. People loved it. And, honestly, the powers that be aren't threatened by an actor doing a performance like that in a safe Hollywood studio. So saying they got rid of him merely for doing more of that doesn't scan for me.
From all the shyt I've read, it feels like:
- Season 2 was struggling
- They knew Orlando was talented and could write
- They tried to double dip - get him to continue acting AND write but not paying him for writing
- He said that's racist - where it could've just been Hollywood doing something fukked up (and doing something fukked up to a black person is almost always a little racist)
- He's not sufficiently a pushover and "just happy for the opportunity" so they canned him for being "difficult"
