Well "Red" like me stop you right now and explain to you why your entire rant wasAllow me to elaborate. MS can't continue to think allowing people access to other companies content and services is a premium feature, something that should be paid for, when those same companies offer that access on other devices for free. Those devices are becoming more and more ubiquitous in peoples lives, their purpose converging with more traditional devices such as televisions by the day.
At the moment MS can get away with it because those companies don't want to risk cutting off such a sizeable market, especially when that market leader offers-- at the moment-- one of the easiest ways for a large number of people to converge their existing devices without needing to replace equipment. The point is that isn't going to remain the situation at the pace things are currently moving. MS are going to have to think of something different from offering web browsing on a console in 2012 to maintain the opinion that Live is a worthwhile premium to pay, something different to maintain the 'stickiness' (to draw on the socio-economic phrase).
Whatever way you slice it, it's paying an additional fee on top of the subscription cost.
All this shyt is free, you stupid motherfukker.
Facebook and Twitter are completely free on all other devices and the user experience is infinitely more intuitive and enjoyable.
The TV catchup services, live TV services, media content rental services, and the like are also completely free on other devices. Those that require a subscription are free to access once you have the aforementioned subscription.
All I'm saying is MS can't continue to think their current offering is enough in its current guise to maintain the status quo of people forking out hand over fist for things they can, and do, get elsewhere. Call it like it is: Multiplayer aside, Live is worthless. People aren't paying $60 a year to post Facebook updates from their XBox, fam. The fact MS have already got people to hand over money for shyt they get for free anyway is alreadystatus.

I don't know how you are, but this is a hobby for me. I don't talk out my ass, I live thru this. I watched with my own two eyes as every single ps3 game that was supposed to be special, lagged to the point it was unplayable.
Just name a game. LBP1? Part 2? MGS4? CODMW1-9? Uncharted 2/3?
Everyone of them and more suffered from and STILL suffer from the same lag issues. And the games I just named that are multiplat, run smooth on xbox

It still sucks compared to just typing with a keyboard, but it's much more time consuming on IE for Xbox because you have to use the analog stick to navigate around the keys.
PS3 also has a nice word predicting ability that comes in handy when sending messages and typing in the browser also...
Don't matter, I just hooked up my keyboard to my Xbox anyway

Typing on the PS3 controller using it's D-pad is much easier and the word prediction helps out immensely.

Windows live is free and that's a M$ service yet I don't see you talking about how bad it is. I've played a few games online on PC and it was the same quality wise.
