Wait so do you find this useful with no chatpad and no kinect?
Because, I don't see what the big deal is
Given I don't really use my Xbox for that many extra curricular activities (no netflix etc) and it seems like it'd be a hassle to have to type things in with a virtual keyboard. I'll give it another go later hopefully they add that smart glass functionality soon
Its another PC for you to use.
You dont want to use it? Dont :hula:
IE is decent on Xbox. But the virtual keyboard is wack. Had to plug in my USB keyboard that is usually in my PS3.

And until video works in the browser, its not of much use to many. When its fully functional its going to be a nice addition to the console. Might have to get a mouse for it if its worth it.
How can any virtual keyboard on a controller not be wack :stopitslime:
Like you said, just plug in a keyboard if you doin heavy typing.
When typing in websites, it does the auto fill in so you dont have to type out too much anyway
You can watch videos too, just not flash right now
Google it, easy to find bruh...
Just get 360 chatpad and you will be okay.

Its wack because it doesn't let you type with the dpad. Constantly scrolling with the analog stick is a bytch to type with.

Bruh, like every new interface.. it takes a little time to get used to.
I use the chatpad, but for a ew hours I didnt use it and I got used to it.
Regardless, you bout to be using your smartphone/tablet or fukk both those and just keep using your keyboard
Whats wrong with that? Plugging in a usb is too much work?
Why you need it in your ps3 for anyway? No need to anymore, IE is here :ahh:

Another Gold-only feature.

MS are desperate to make that Gold sub seem worthwhile. In the face of all these app stores, the way I see it, they're fighting a losing battle.

Paying for a Netflix sub then paying again to be able to use it? :snoop:

BBC had the right attitude. A lot more companies should adopt that stance.

Look ladies, if you wanna use features on the xbox, you need XBL
If you can't handle that, don't get an xbox :hula:
A losing battle you say :what:
They leading the charge bruh, they winning.
Its not paying for Netflix, its paying for the BEST netflix
Its also paying for a BUNCH of other shyt, the IE Browser is just another feature on top of MANY more features
They are able to come out with all these things because we pay for the service
If all this shyt was free, why doesn't the competition have everything we have
And how come it doesn't run as smooth on those other platforms?

Nobody is forcing you to rock with it, if you don't like Fine Dining, then Bon Appetite at the HOME soup kitchen :sadcam:

Allow me to elaborate. MS can't continue to think allowing people access to other companies content and services is a premium feature, something that should be paid for, when those same companies offer that access on other devices for free. Those devices are becoming more and more ubiquitous in peoples lives, their purpose converging with more traditional devices such as televisions by the day.

At the moment MS can get away with it because those companies don't want to risk cutting off such a sizeable market, especially when that market leader offers-- at the moment-- one of the easiest ways for a large number of people to converge their existing devices without needing to replace equipment. The point is that isn't going to remain the situation at the pace things are currently moving. MS are going to have to think of something different from offering web browsing on a console in 2012 to maintain the opinion that Live is a worthwhile premium to pay, something different to maintain the 'stickiness' (to draw on the socio-economic phrase).

Its not paying for Netflix, its paying for the BEST netflix

Whatever way you slice it, it's paying an additional fee on top of the subscription cost.

:shaq2: :rudy:

All this shyt is free, you stupid motherfukker.

Facebook and Twitter are completely free on all other devices and the user experience is infinitely more intuitive and enjoyable.

The TV catchup services, live TV services, media content rental services, and the like are also completely free on other devices. Those that require a subscription are free to access once you have the aforementioned subscription.

All I'm saying is MS can't continue to think their current offering is enough in its current guise to maintain the status quo of people forking out hand over fist for things they can, and do, get elsewhere. Call it like it is: Multiplayer aside, Live is worthless. People aren't paying $60 a year to post Facebook updates from their XBox, fam. The fact MS have already got people to hand over money for shyt they get for free anyway is already :pachaha: status.

..and I'm an Xbot straight out the gate in 2005 so I'm not even a triple stan, just calling it how it is.

Yeah it's bullshyt.

But I'm sure they are paying for some of these apps in order to keep them off of PS3. Why isn't HBOGo, ESPN and the upcoming NBA League Pass app on PS3? That's how they're justifying paying for Live in the gaming console market at least.
