Religion is definitely part of what makes a person...makes a person irrational that is.

Look...Im not hooked on the booze and the drugs....I work hard, sometimes 50-60 hour weeks. If I drink and smoke on my days off, its because I want to, not because I need too. If I smoke at night time a few nights, its because I want to.

I don't have any crutches because my life is great and i don't have substance abuse problems, but you have a crutch no matter how your life is going, because you believe in some fairytale person in the sky

Now tell me which crutch is worse....the crutch you can actually see to get help for and make your life straight?

Thats bullshyt...its much harder for an irrational bible thumper to give up their religion then it is for an irrational alcoholic or drug addict to give up their vice. They will eventually hit rock bottom and realize they need to change, while people like you will hit rock bottom and still try to rely on prayer

So in reality, and thinking rationally....what vice is really a sign of weakness? a liquor bottle or a bible?

Until then, I would look worse than the idiots that originally made the comparison if I further indulge in dialogue that would even suggest that drugs are comparable to religion. The bible also says you can't wear clothes with two different materials, eat shellfish, shave, work on sunday, and says it's okay to own slaves, kill heathens, sacrifice animals/people, have multiple wives, and own slaves.

You are generalizing obviously without having a true understanding of what is really said. All of these laws you listed are from the Old testament. We were freed from following the Old laws once Christ paid the price on the cross. Using the old laws against Christianity doesnt really hold water, as that religion didnt even exist at that time.
