I told you for a few years now that it's a passing league and defense is no longer played well and that rbs and lbs are going extinct and you were in denial.. I'm glad a hardcore purist like yourself sees how bad it's gotten.

It's now arena league football everyone passes 40 times a game. They'res no balance anymore. It's pathetic that teams can't even run 4th and short anymore because they don't practice running

Teams used to have identities and now everyone plays the same way.

Look back to the 90 Giants and the contrast between how they and the Niners played or them and the bills and how it made for amazing drama and great football seeing two teams with drastically different styles try to impose their will over each other in the NFC title game and then the Super Bowl

Miss me with all this doomsday, sky is falling shyt. Yeah football is a complex game, what is more complex than passing the football? You need a coach on the sideline to call the right play, and at least 7 players on the field (QB/WR/5 OL) to all be on the same page for one specific play in order to make it work. This is the style of football the majority of fans want to see, as evidenced by TV ratings in recent years. And there's a lot more that goes into it than just NFL rules changes - more emphasis is being placed on offense at a younger age with all the 7 on 7 passing leagues and private QB camps, that leads to more skilled QB's and WR's coming out of HS and college and better passing offenses in the NFL.

If you come from the 'casual fans want more passing' camp, we have nothing to talk about. I don't give two shyts about ratings or what a popcorn infused average fans likes to see.

Football is a game of many facets and the NFL simply keeps devaluing it into passing spree with one facet being favored by all rules. And you're ok with it because it takes skill to pass the ball? Lol ok. So does staying with a receiver who knows the play and you don't. So does shedding a block from a beefy olineman and getting to the ballcarrier before he's able to burst through the hole. Many things in football take skill, but you want to focus on only one aspect to please all the casual fans

If you're arguing there's nothing wrong with passing the ball 8353497 times, then by your logic running the ball the same number of times should be OK as well since you don't care if it's skewed

Athletes have changed...the super athletes with size all play defense now. Granted the passing rules have aided the air game...but running the ball now is harder with how fast defenses have become. Pass to get the lead then run to salt the game.

Yet a run first offense went to back to back superbowl and lost by the dumbest moment.

Defense and run game go in hand together. I don't think I need to explain why.
