On one hand it’s “fukk white people”. On the other hand it’s “why won’t they recognize me and shower me with awards”

You know what's crazy? Verzuz actually got more overall attention for the Gucci vs Jeezy show(?) than the Grammy's did that one year.
Sure it was the pandemic, but those were older artists. Imagine if they got Beyonce, Rihanna, etc.
It really goes to show these "award" ceremonies need black artists to sell their show to the max, period.
I don't even care about the awards anymore and didn't watch them this year. A lot of this hoopla means they may "reward" a Black artist next year and everybody going to complain it's out of "pity". So I just say fukk it, it's lose-lose so I'm not going to watch and they can lose ratings. fukk their dumbass show for "awarding" music.
The fans these artists have are their biggest awards and no amount of money or ceremonies can buy that.

I see where you're coming from but I'm not comparing LH to Bey in that regard ( her actions post Miseducation.)
I judge and compare simply the music. Beyonce doesn't have an album that can compare to Miseducation. Lemonade is her greatest work. Why? Because the music was derived from personal spaces, hurt and experiences. It was genuine. That's art. That's the definition of it. Every other album is mainly her trying to break the charts open with pop hits (Renaissance). Very little substance. Her debut album is really good to me too.
Lauryn was an artist first and an entertainer 2nd. Beyonce is an entertainer 1st and an artist second. That is why I do not compare the 2. They cannot be compared.
Great albums barely ever win that Grammy though
