One thing I don't like about the Marvel movies is the lame humor

Aren't they movies based on COMIC books? :dwillhuh:
How serious do stories revolving around nikkas in capes and tights need to be?
Have you read comic books before?:dwillhuh:

I'll put it this way, the Civil War comic book event that the movie is based off of starts off with a school being blown up and hundreds of children dying. I mean, that's kinda serious, I guess:hubie:

Comics are filled with adult themes and the violence can be pushing it at times.
And which of the movies made by marvel has drastically differed from its comic origin. You all are being disingenuous as hell and acting like they have the Punisher out here looking like the kings of comedy tour.

I think we wouldn't have a problem if the lofty expectations were held for all other films. But when the shyt comedy that was suicide squad gets a pass from these very same posters, I can't take their opinion seriously and they need to be called out for the hypocrisy. We got a ton of Clark kents in here that will :cape: to talk about how marvel is bad at this this and this but then praise the shyttier D.C. counterpart. All we want is some consistency.

But DC is about to turn their universe into a game of dozens, can't be that bad.

I see both sides of the argument.

The problem isn't the humor....the problem is if the humor fits or not. Some times it works, other times it doesn't. One of the most divisive scenes seems to be the dance off in "GOTG"....it didn't bother me at all because the movie has a giant tree man and a talking racc00n. If they pulled that shyt in "Civil War" then yeah....different story.

Obviously it isn't as serious and dark as something like "Logan" but I honestly can't remember any jokes from "Civil War". Can only remember a couple from "TWS", too. Probably because the jokes were in service of the story as opposed to something like "Age Of Ultron" where everyone seemed to be doing stand up.

Regardless, these are comic book movies and despite having some serious story arcs or themes....comic books are generally goofy as fukk.

I almost died in the cinema when Ronan ended up being fodder and pawned like a little hoe..

Was cheesing all through Age of Ultron when GAWDltron was swagging, then he started one liners and became a little whiny hoe :scust:

lets not even discuss Iron man 3 smh...

whole airport scene in civil war gotta be the most unwatchable shyt once the hype wears off.. that shyt felt like a playground scuffle

But the Civil War they put on screen started out somewhat "serious" and then in the middle of the movie it turns into another open mic night with the one liners. Why? Because Marvel stans don't have the ability to sit through a well constructed drama? They don't possess those life skills?

:russ: i always forget that shyt. Also Civl War 2's impetus was someone being blown out of the sky and dying.

And of course as a spidey fan, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Gwen Stacy. But maybe a psychopath throwing a woman off a bridge to kill her is for kids:lupe:

Civil War was nearly completely serious in the comics. It was a political drama basically. A terror attack followed by legislation that ended up shaping and altering the entire universe. Is that what we got in the movie? No. It's not. The movie was okay and it started off really well but then it turned into generic one liner BS.

Deadpool was irritating to me for this exact reason

The only time the humor was good and didn't seem like they were trying so hard was with Iron Man

Just saw Deadpool recently for the first time since watching it at the theaters and thought it was an okay movie. When watching again the movie has no replay value to me and the story is paper thin. I can see why it did so well at the way the film marketed.
