west coast variants are still extremely successful. new england might run the spread, but its whole game is predicated on short passes and good simple short routes setting up the run and longer passes, which is exactly what a WCO is about

the chiefs offense is also moderately successful. andy reid is terrible with clock management, but hes a very good playcaller who knows how to call WCO plays

So many Niner fans just want a connection to the glory days, its sickening. People still want the Niners to run the west coast offense, like that's the key to a championship in 2016.

It's part of that and part fans can't stand to be led by a black QB. Man no one can tell me the hate on that board isn't partly racially charged.

he has zero experience at DC, hes been a LB coach. how is that different from singletary or tomsula ?

I better not see the same people complaining about lack of last years coaching experience endorsing vrabel

we need simple, solid schemes on defense where everyone knows what they're doing. doesnt have to be fangio-like, because we dont have the talent to just sit back and stop teams off talent, but also not anything over-complicated.

Mike Vrabel is raw as a coach but he is from the Parcels/Bill Belichick coaching tree which has historically been quite successful. Right or wrong the guy is on a fast track to being a head coach before 45, and he clearly must have differentiated himself from Mangini in the interview since, it seems we've had our eye on him before Chip Kelley was available.

Not saying he's gonna be what we need, but he can't be worse than Mangini, right?
