Buckner or jack

:blessed:

i like jack but do you think he has the size and durability to play ILB in the nfl (i'm assuming 9ers would plug him there since it's a big need)? that's my biggest concern with him. Wilhoite is gonna get hit with a tender and will most likely be gone next season as a UFA, unless he balls like crazy, so i can see 9ers having him #1 on their list. Jack might be a better fit as a 4-3 Weak OLB...he's a player that you want to roam around the field and cover TEs. i didn't see him pass rush much so i can't call it and i haven't seen him take on blockers straight up. he's a real wild card.

Yeah Jack's best fit is definitely 4-3 OLB. I think he can play 3-4 ILB, but I have reservations. He will probably need to get a bit stronger for run D. Bow has lost a step though, so Jack will be the coverage backer. At 7 though, beggars can't be choosers, and if he's there he's probably gonna be the best player on the board.

he weighed in at 245 at the combine, hes a super freak athlete. he can take on blockers, he can do it all. a inside backer who was used as a safety and nickle cb at times at ucla and played rb.

Is this guy Jack a can't miss guy, i`m not super excited about another ILB, i feel we have more pressing needs and you can get decent ILB's in later rounds.

i read he was 225 somewhere:ohhh: if true then i like his chances at being a great ILB. his body is still leaned out so with an extra 10-15 lbs of muslce mass he'll be a beast:wow:

the gap in talent after jack and ragland is pretty big and the front 7 is the cog that makes the 9ers D go. good teams draft on position priority relative to the scheme.

I think we have more priority on QB, OL, CB and WR honestly.

:dwillhuh:

Anthony Davis is coming back so OL is not #1 priority now, you shouldn't draft CBs high when your team's defensive strength/scheme revolves around the front 7, no WR is worth the #7 pick and no QB is worth taking that early. a serviceable QB like kevin hogan from standford can be taken in 5th round. if they wanna reach for a QB then cook in the 3rd or hackenberg in the 4th but there's no QB worth gambling a early pick on imo.

this is a great draft for defense in the top 10, we need a fuking star no busts

Ehh, i feel we need so much more help on offense than we do on D, but i see where you're coming from.

And too many dudes on D have been can't miss prospects and wound up to be scrubs.
this is the wrong draft to find offensive help, fa is the best option there

i mean the quality of wrs is poor, rbs ok, and qbs are iffy.

To me FA offense is garbage. Honestly, it's not the best year to have this $ and this pick. Gotta love how we bomb out and a very inopportune time

To me we need an edge rusher much more. I`d like to see us go back to a 4-3, doesn't it just seem like we have more talent in that type of defense?

Armstead, Dial, Willams (please let him stay), Carradine, Dorsey, Purcell

Then LBs Harold, Boiwman, Lynch and bench Brooks, Lemonoir. Skov

I almost wonder should be pick up a vet like the Panthers old Charles Johnson now that he's been released. The only thing worst than seeing our Oline collapsed and how our QB's rushed and attacked..... is on the other end seeing opposing QB's just calmly sit in the pocket like they window shopping for a car or etc.

Dude was second in sacks in their franchise behind only J. Peppers. He's still relatively young at 29 so would could get maybe 4-6 more decent years out of him. I'd love for him to compete with Tank and J-Eddie

The only edge rushers are available in fa, this defense isn't suited for the 4-3 right now. Might as well trade armstead because he has no role in a 4-3
