I am a big fan of some of Tarantino's movies.

Pulp Fiction and Inglorious Basterds are tremendous.

Generally, the dialogue in his movies is always superb.

But Tarantino has reached the point (perhaps years ago) where he could be described as predictable.

Interesting dialogue with a handful of great cinematic shots, but ruined with his injection of racist comments/themes and unnecessary violence.

Over the last week I saw this movie and Joker to compare them now that the Oscars are coming up.

Joker is way, way, way better. Better acted and with a far more interesting story arc.

I'm basically done with Tarantino unless he decides to make a more serious movie...one that doesnt hinge on killings.
Joker is not even in the same league as Once upon a time in Hollywood. It is entertaining if you look at it as a mediocre directors attempt to imagine what a scorsese adaption of a graphic novel would look like (but not quite nailing it). It is not a good movie. Once upon a time is Tarantinos most experimental work and not as easy to digest, but it is a way better movie than Joker.

Rewatched this today and this is an amazing movie. I think a lot of people including myself were a bit thrown off on the first watch but watching it again the plot is pretty easy to deduce and follow.

Two guys who saw their heyday in the 50s/60s realising their past it as they approach the 70s. Cliff and Rick both have different ways of dealing with this but it works out for them in the end.

Can definitely see how this is divisive but I’m more a fan of dialogue in movies which is why I also loved the Hateful Eight.

5/5 for me

I love Hateful 8. Gets better every time I watch it. The dialogue is great and the acting is top notch, everyone is so good in their roles.

Holy shyt at the last 15 minutes. That was some brutal shyt.

Interesting twist at the end. The members of the Manson Family ended up at the wrong house and got slaughtered instead of Tate getting diced up.

Anyone seen this movie that came out not too long ago called Donnybrook? The chick that plays pu$$ycat in OUATIH has a full nude scene. :takedat:
I'll check that one out. I thought she was unattractive and bony until I saw her in her underwear in Native Son (2019) :whoo:

Great film
I can see why alot of the dummies of the coli don't like it.

A.k.a Film no make loud bang and sparklies me no like film.

i enjoyed it from a technical standpoint, dont remember what i posted in here initially after watching it and dont feel like looking it up. I dont think this film is for casual movie goers like some of QTs other flicks where there is enough surface level entertainment that even if people dont get the underlying stuff they are still entertained.
