You nailed my feelings about this movie story wise. It wasn't cohesive, but Leo put on a GOAT level performance to me. I got the Pacino in Godfather vibe about it. He was doing accents, stuttering, going from insecure to insecure ass kissing in the Pacino scene, he fukking killed in the villain role, and if I'm being honest I kinda hope QT makes a single episode of Bounty Law with him.

I genuinely think he made this movie just for Leo to flex how good he could be.
Leo basically had to work his ass off in this movie. I would feel kind of anxious watching his scenes.

Everyone else just got to kind of breeze through it. Which I suppose was the point.

Leo playing someone hanging on by a thread. Pitt is just like whatever man, lives in a shytty trailer but just living like not a care in the world opposite Margot who is living the life but is also care free and happy all the time.

I've been listening to podcasts(@TheGodling :umad:) and reading a lot of articles about tarantino obsessively for the past month and a half and i hear a lot of it. Film nerds place Jackie or inglorious as his best. Talked to @MartyMcFly about this
Just more evidence that the kind of people who make podcasts don't have a goddamn clue.

I Such a more grounded movie with an actual plot.
I mean, this is literally called once upon a time in hollywood. It's not supposed to be grounded.

I don’t think QT really made a bad film, just some to me were better than the others

If I had may a rough list I’d go

Pulp Fiction
Django
Kill Bill 1
The Hateful 8
Inglorious b*stards
Reservoir Dogs
Kill Bill 2
Once Upon a Time
Jackie Brown
Death Proof

:yeshrug:

And that’s loosely, I could easily flip a few here and there but to me this wasn’t one of his top 5 best movies.
Jackie Brown is a great movie, it's just very different from everything else he did.

Finally got the chance to see this movie today. :mjlol: at this film changing history making it look like the manson family some bytches (some) getting killed off and Sharon Tate not getting killed that fateful night. Also lol at Bruce Lee getting that work.

I'm not gonna lie I didn't enjoy this until the end.
My main point of contention was that the plot way way too loose for a film this long. People were legit walking out in the middle of the film cause it didn't seem to have any sort of direction. I've honestly never seen a movie clear out like that.:ohhh:

Also what was the point of Margot Robbie besides showing her dirty feet and getting pregnant?

Leo brought his usual brilliance to the role but I thought Brad Pitt was the star of this. He was brilliant in my opinion.

The scene where
he was insisting on visiting that old dude had me like :lupe:. Also when he tells dude to fix his tyre:russ:

Overall a 5.5 out of 10 for me
