a lot of our grandparents bought into the multiculturalism lie. they didn't teach our parents generation shyt about white supremacy, businesses, ownership, etc. then we got raised totally oblivious to system we were born into. the older generation believed jobs would always be readily available, like we could inherit that shyt.

and i feel you, @DrX, i get tired of seeing these old zombie lookin nikkas on the streets begging for change as well. especially when they're accosting black women, shyt is embarrassing.

even if they were held accountable, it wouldn't change the conditions of black neighborhoods. it's just frustrating that every other group is basically being passed the batton from what their fathers and grandfathers built. meanwhile, we start from scratch with nothing but the shirt off our backs. like black men born in the 80s and 90s are now responsible for building a better black community--which especially frustrates me when it pertains to the rhetoric we hear from a lot of black women.

school me on this.....

welp, now that the conversation among black women and men has shifted towards building and the condition of the black community. we (black men born int he 80s and 90s) are expected to build a proper black community from scratch. even though most of us weren't given any of the skills or resources to build. it's frustrating that it's now our responsibility to build what our parents and grandparents didnt.

I feel you OP. I certainly feel you uowever I can't judge. This system is so volatile that some were left in the dust ( ie fiends on the block and so forth). I have witness cats in their 40's and up still running around like they 20 something, still at jims after the club bugging. The best thing I can say as a black man is to continue to help, continue to succeed and never forget who you are.

Word that's who I was referring too , Baby boomers kind of looking funny in the light because they were alive (atleast the early baby boomers) to witness some of the most prolific figures in black history and didn't retain none of the information they provided or take the imitative to make sure their people as a whole prosper economically when Malcolm X basically gave them the blueprint , that shyt boggles my mind truthfully ..
What generation do they consider the young men who fought in Vietnam?

That set the stage for the inner-city woman's "independence" and the War On Drugs imo
