i don't think road to the riches, wanted dead or alive or 4,5,6 are forgettable but can't front you're right, g rap really doesn't have any classics

i'm sure we'll agree that rakim does.... but what about kane, you think he got any classics?

nah, i dont think he has a legit classic album either, but he definitey got a few classic songs though(Raw,Ain't no half stepping,Young, gifted and black, etc)

Kane’s first two albums are certified classics.
Long Live the Kane is a GOAT contender album.
As for G Rap, he doesn’t have a GOAT contender album but Road to the Riches is a classic. Live and Let Die too.

yep i agree on kane, both them albums are classics.. and then the brother messes around and gives us taste of chocolate, why kane??? lol

ok i ain't even mad at you saying road to the riches is a classic. title track, men at work, truly yours, it's a demo, rhymes i express, trilogy of terror... maybe i need to revisit that

but you really think live and let die is though? i actually like wanted dead or alive better

:patrice::francis: definitely gotta disagree with that one breh

Raw & Ain't no half stepping are the only tracks i wanted to listen to on that album

no way you can seriously believe that that album is up there with Paid in full,It takes a nation of millions,By all means neccesary,Strickly Business,The great adventures of Slick Rick.

shyt even biz's 'Goin off' was more of a legit classic than Long Live Kane..and yes i know kane helped write it lol

its a lot bro lol, i just named a few in my previous post

and i also think the lack of that stand out album is why i wouldn't put them in the top ten of of overall GOAT rappers, but both are arguably top ten GOAT lyricists.

Jadakiss is another perfect example of a GOAT lyricists without a legit classic album.

Im a old head from the golden era and a huge G rap fan first heard him on WBLS freestyling with Kane and was
:whew:

at the end of the day...

G rap didnt make songs for the radio or club

he was a pure rapper.....

and his raps and beats were mostly marketed for the 5 boroughs

Once i left the tristate i never came across a true die hard G rap fan

His delivery and sound was too regional

G Rap never blew cause he was so hardcore its not like he was making pop hits and they just flopped or something....people would take what he did commercialize it and blow the fukk up BBD is the most well known but there were many others

As dope as the early 90s were emcees were biting like crazy

Tragedy is another rapper who should have sold more he was 'illmatic' in 88'

"They gone bite this just like they bit its a demo"

....2 years later

Live and Let Die isnt classic but is a great album that birthed Nas, Biggie and Raekwon. Gimme the Loot is basically a revamped "Train Robbery". Rae got tha mafioso shyt from Kool G

He didnt blow bc he was too NY centric, didnt have a smooth delivery and not charismatic

Dude could rap his ass off

Not an old head but Rae and Ghost beat him to the punch :francis:

what??
how??

they weren't big sellers either, and most of their fans are also fans of kool g rap and acknowledge his influence over them.

only difference is the wutang tour money & branding.
