A lot of those eastcoast MCs were also selling records in the west and midwest. I honestly didn't hear much about him when I was younger.

Public Enemy, Rakim, KRS One, Big Daddy Kane had attention from NYC to LA.

Not sure if that is the reason but having millions more people knowing about you certainly helps.

I always felt like g rap was the secret gem in the juice crew. His solo albums were underwhelming even tho I got excited about the initial release of most of them.
He told the best mob stories in his raps then everyone started biting.

I was just listening to The Symphony friday in the whip....and thought to myself...G Rap is basically the father of mafioso crack rap- random bullshyt i think about when im driving

for one, he doesn't have a legit classic album..great lyricist, but those albums were forgettable

i don't think road to the riches, wanted dead or alive or 4,5,6 are forgettable but can't front you're right, g rap really doesn't have any classics

i'm sure we'll agree that rakim does.... but what about kane, you think he got any classics?
