I was at the Orlando Arena for a draft day party, because I just KNEW .. that MY Magic would draft MY favorite player, from MY favorite college .. to make damn near one of the most dominating front courts in the history of the game...

And then when we did .. I was in ecstasy .. for about 4 minutes. :stopitslime:

When they traded Webber for Penny .. all I could remember was (i was a young jit.. so cut me some slack) .. me yelling out NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!!!! What the hell ?!?!?!!?!?!?! This guy cant even spell his name right ?!?!!?!? What the hell is an AnFERnee??? Its Anthony you fool !!!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Straight went from :lawd: , :banderas: and :blessed: ... to :whoa: when I heard 'we have a trade to announce' ...

After hearing the trade it was all just :sadcam::what::merchant::why::pacspit::childplease::rudy::wtf::aicmon::scusthov::mindblown::camby:

And finally ...

:to:

I got so mad .. I remember jumping out of my seat .. (the party was held IN the arena) .. and when i jumped out.. that arena was so shytty .. that the armrests came off .. and I threw them onto the court. Yelling n shyt.

2 mintes later .. I had security look at me like :dahell: and ask me .. wtf is wrong with you kid .. I told him it was a shytty pick .. and dude said 'why you breaking and throwing shyt?' .. i told him it was an accident.. but I hope the armrests found a way to hit Pat Williams in the head .. and thats where dude just gave me the :camby:.

I was escorted out.

At the end of the day .. Penny became my all time favorite player. :damn::steviej::smugbiden::banderas:

:laff:

KD and Deron Williams?

What exactly can KD do that Chris Webber couldn't do inside the 3-point line? What passes could D-Will make that Webber couldn't?

^^^How many 6'9" 250+ big men splittin' two defenders and oopin' like that? And that's him past his prime. You have no idea what your talkin' about.

Breh I watched Webber, nothing about his game says KD or Deron. Webber couldn't shoot off the dribble like KD and Deron? Yes Webber had good handles and court vision for a big man, no need to go overboard with the comparisons. Thanks for the vid though.:yeshrug:

Breh, there's NBA PGs right now that can't split two defenders. Have you seen any of his highlights? There all of him dunking and shooting off the dribble.

In the first minute there's like 3 plays of him taking nikkaz off the dribble, you talkin' about him like he's Kevin Willis status :heh:. The more you talk, the more I doubt you really saw him play.

:stopitslime: What are you talking about? Because I said his game is not reminiscent of or comparable to Durant or Deron, that's saying he's Kevin Willis status???:wtf:

I saw him play when I was young but I never understood the hype.

why was he the #1 recruit going into college? why'd they make such a big deal about when he was drafted?

was it the mid range game? was it the versatility in hairstyles?

seriously tho, what was it. He seemed like a good all around player but never overly GREAT in anything.

help me out.
Dude was every Power Forward's favorite Power Forward.
  • 6'10 (maybe 6'9)
  • Great handles for a non guard
  • GREAT passer (one of the best passers from the post and on the break at the time)
  • Vicious shot blocker
  • Good midrange jumpshot
  • 3pt range tho seldom used
  • Good fundamentals plays smart (except for calling timeouts)

Dude had PG skills in a PF's body. When he played with Howard and Rasheed shyt was just beautiful

I didn't say he had comparable game, I said mix of talents, like if you combined KD, Deron Williams, and Kevin Love, you'd have CWebb.

you would have the best NBA player of all time.

If the Kings won the championship that year he got cheated by the refs, he would be seen in a whole other light. That Western Division in that era was insane. You had

Lakers
Kings
Spurs
Blazers
Suns
Mavericks
Timberwolves
^^^^All these teams had enough talent to win the championship at any given time :wow: I forgot which year it was when there was a 50 win team that didn't make the playoffs :damn: You had to be top 50 player of all time type player to lead your team to the playoffs in the West in that era, and in that era he certainly played like it. Give Webber 2 rings and I assure you people would talk about him as a top 50 player.

:whew: gave Malone, KG and J O'Neal that work in the first 2 minutes. Chris didn't start mainly relying on the J until the injury, even then he was still athletic enough to finish.
