when a women is pregnant they do a full std screening, if the mother has stds like genital herpes(herpes type 2) or hiv they will do a C-section and the child will be born just fine... if no c-section is done the child will aquire those diseases... the mother can never breast feed the child cuz hiv is in the milk and you can catch it that way.

herpes is basically a skin disease, skin on skin contact is all you need to get it, for the most part it thrives in the mucus membranes of the body so if you wear a condom more then likely you will not catch it... if there is no break out the chances of you catching it is very low... honestly herpes is not a big deal really.. i dont have it or want it but its not as scary as people claim it to be.
