Slaughtahouse is an incredible album. Ace and Digga falling out was just like BCC not using Beatminerz. Still dope, but better together.

I'm glad someone else is pointing this out.

Once Digga was out of the equation, Ace's music wasn't the same. Digga spoke about this on a few occasions. He was a certified dope producer. He was working on Ready to Die, at the same time he was helping Ace with tracks. But Ace wanted to play boss over everyone, so he lost his crew, and vanished for years before coming back out.

Dude's best work was Slaughtahouse.

So this is the real reason he was mad at Will Smith if this is true :ohhh:
You figure Will got the sample clearance and it was successful. Then Will says he winning awards without cursing.
Could be. He sampled it on Just The Two Of Us and they had to change the title to 97 Bonnie and Clyde and change the beat.

I think OGC's Empire Strikes Back is better than Da Storm:manny:. Joint had some bangers, the posse cuts hit and Ville and Top Dog were VASTLY improved as emcees/lyricist. Those fellas were damn near Group Home status on Da Storm, Starang carried that shyt.
Yeah Louisville Slugga was STRUGGLING on Da Storm. Like a bootleg Keith Murray.

On the flipside tho Starang was probably the best rapper in Boot Camp after Sean Price

It's a fair critique I'd say, I can see some folks feeling underwhelmed and perceiving it as Black Moon Jr., especially the point about a lot of songs blending in

A bunch of good songs that blended together in a bad way. Plus there wasn't enough backstory for those dudes so songs like "Wipe Ya Mouf" & tributes to fallen friends aren't going to work for the masses.

While we're on the topic, they gave Dah Shinin 3 mics as well. Source for the most part hit it on the nail but yeah sometimes they got it wrong. I say its 5 mics but at the least this should have been a 4.

3 mics is absurd. If they're only giving 4.5 to The Infamous & OB4CL & the chronic, then I'm cool w/ it being 4.

Years later I have a much better grasp on why Starang gave up. It wasn't about him getting jumped, it's that whoever was with him didn't help him.

He was never going to be able to blow up as Starang from Boot Camp Clik after that point. The Boot Camp name was on the decline and the relationship was more business than personal. Starang was one of those people who was known before rap as being reckless, but he was victimized and with a crew that didn't want to get back.

Let's not forget Starang, Ruck, Rock started pushing MFC into the public eye because of the growing negative perception of BCC.

I don't believe he got cut just stomped.
Brooklyn rap politics. One incident in the streets doesn't go your way it doesn't matter what you did up until that point. All your momentum gone.
Happens to at least one talented BK rapper every year.

I suggest you revisit the Heltah Skeltah library, because you seem to have forgotten that Rockness Monsta exists.

Steele was always slept-on.

I think he was better than Starang, but got lost in the whole group back and forth thing with Tek. But that dude was NICE!!
