I was born in 91 and although I grew up on 90s music much of my life and acknolewdge the mid 90s as the best period I would say this is the year that resonates with me and my peers the most due to my age obviously. But how did you old heads feel about lets say 2002-2004. To me, the singles were undeniable especially in the summer. Lets take a trip down memory lane for a minute:

Some tracks that will go down in history for me:

2002
Air Force Ones
Grindin
Oh Boy
Wanskta
Still Fly

2003
Like a Pimp :dj2: (TV volume got turned up all the way whenever this dropped)
What we do
Dipset Anthem
Rock n Roll
Aint It Man
So Into You w/ Tamia
Neva Scared
24s
In da Club
Through the Wire
Ridin Spinners
Dirt off your shoulder

(Most of these were in the summer mind you^)

2004
Knuck if you buck :dj2::dj2::dj2:
Get em Girls/Killa Cam (Cold ass winter :wow:)
How we do
Breathe
Go DJ
Get Your Shine On
Game Over (Flip, I know yall remember this :myman:)
Let Me In (Young Buck)

Random songs I mentioned but there are really too many. I didnt even really go in on the cross over or R&B hits like Field Mob - Sick of Being Lonely.

Dont even get me started on Lil Jon :shaq: and TVT/BME.
Did the old heads fukk with this music...or was it all drivel to yall? To me it was in 2006 where music really began falling off

Those were my college years right there. It was some ignant ass music dropping during that period but i loved all of it. The Ying Yang twins and Lil John kept the club jumping back then. Pledged Alpha in 2003, Get Low was the first song i ever party hopped to :to:

I was stationed in GA, so that crunk shyt was poppin then. Most of it was garbage IMO, but there were some gems. I was on that Dipset/Kanye/G-Unit/Justus League(Little Brother, etc.) shyt heavy, tho.

I was out of college already at that time. I hated all of that shyt. Last albums i liked were supreme clientele and blueprint.

I liked the songs Grinding and Oh Boy. I actually liked a lot of Just Blaze's songs during that time. But that's about it.

Also I'm from the east coast so a lot of that stuff looked like modern day minstrel shows. That crunk stuff looked like some yes massa stuff. It was a bit of a surprise. That time also killed sampling and brought in baby soft keyboard beats and singing.
