Reminds me of a case I watched not to long ago on Dateline. Another old white man gunned down two unarmed teens right before thanksgiving, boy and girl just like this one. They had broke into his home too, when the cops interviewed him he acted like they threatened him and that the killing was in self defense. Well he probably would have gotten away with it too except for one thing, he had set up a tape recorder that caught the whole audio of the event. Come to find out the old man had been broken into before so he took matters into his own hand. He moved his car so it looked like no one was home and then sat in wait in his basement for someone to show up. The tape told the whole story, gunned those two kids down in cold blood.
These cases illustrate why u want laws to protect against excessive use of force. This old fool bout to spend the rest of his twilight years behind bars.
At least the cycle ends and they kid doesn't have to experience this in their future.
