Come on man.
So I was in that Venom thread this dude said this:

eh... not really. its based on a combination of Lethal Protector and Planet of the Symbiotes.
I said earlier in the thread they actually did a pretty good job combining elements from those stories.

And then I thought of all the different spidermans in the different universes that have different storylines, and Batman and so on.

Let's be real, that is some straight ass BS and simply put "Lazy Writing".
It's fukkin lazy man, instead of creating a different character with a different name in the same universe they adjust an existing character that does different things but ya that's a different universe.... WTH man...

They can have people like Spiderman die and his son or protoge takes over and takes over the name too that's fine, I have no issue with that, that is just linear time, all good.

But this entire different universes BS is just BS, then they took that lame ass idea and used it in Star Trek, so these new Star Trek movies were in a different universe with a different Spock and everyone.

They should stop doing this

idk...

you got some of these characters that have been around 40...50...60 years ect. if theyes stuck with one storyline only the whole times, they'd eventually run out of ideas. sometimes they gotta just start over and tweak some details around just to keep progressing going

This is why comic heads don't get attached to "characters" per se but instead they get attached to story lines or "runs". You stop being a fan of certain characters and instead become fans of certain writers and artist.

Its a concept new comic fans figure out eventually but until then you end up getting threads like these.

Also in my opinion some of the best story lines take place outside of the normal continuity because the writers have more freedom to tell the story they want to tell and I'll take a good story over continuity any day.

Let's be all the way real...

Mainstream comics like DC, Marvel are mostly trash and full of reboots and retreads because shyt doesn't fukking work...and it doesn't sell...so they'll start over...

It's like soap operas for male geeks...

The best comics aren't even Spiderman or Batman or Superman or X-Men...

Most of the events in Marvel and DC is just a creative way to fix some story flaw...

Eventually you just learn to like certain graphic novels or stories from the mainstream and you give a fukk less about continuity and you really don't go around reading comics like that...because it's stupid and pointless to keep up...

They'll eventually reboot the shyt and change origins and all that...in some silly 20 issue story

The concept of alternate universes has done for decades and some of the greatest writers have contributed to stories like those :heh:

Can yall imagine going up to somebody like Chris Claremont and calling him a lazy writer :mjlol:

I've never seen more of a disconnect between username and post content on here before :snoop:

Nah that shyt is true...

I remember fukking heavy with the Ultimate Universe because it isn't a mess like the Earth-616 and they merged that shyt in some dumbass event...:hhh:

I remember fukking with the adult Spiderman who had a wife and a steady life and they did Civil War and redid that shyt...so he became fukking Tony Stark...:gucci:

DC fukking rebooted 2 times in the last 3 years...:hhh:

They had a dope ass new Kingpin comic and they cancelled that shyt because it wasn't doing numbers...:hhh:

The shyt is trash...I like linear and to the point storytelling...and that filler, rebooting and multi-verse shyt is lazy...which is why my pretentious ass don't watch shonen anime or read mainstream comics issue by issue...:yeshrug:

As long as shyt like Saga exist I am good...:manny:

Yes, you are being pretentious and you're wrong about Marvel/DC shyt not selling. Like what you like but no need to make up shyt to prove a point.

Can anyone explain the difference between Superman vs Action Comics and Batman vs Detective Comics?
