Sharrod Brown is an OH mainstay are other Dems not copying his blueprint?

Short Answer: With the exception of Tim Ryan, fukk no. Why should they?

Long answer: Dems love the donor class and the consultant class. That’s because they have so many old ass people entrenched in positions with no real ideas and no real plans except

Raise money
Run a campaign
Give platitudes

“Dignity of Work” was a genius idea because his plans can’t be attacked as progressive by Republicans because (here’s the messaging) it’s directed at regular everyday Joes as “Keeping your money and holding your employer responsible”. People love him because he “doesn’t go overboard” and he doesn’t hurt their sensibilities. And when dealing with the backwoods bumfukks, they are soft and everything hurts their feelings.

But then he goes to Washington and votes for progressive legislation and against stupid legislation, because these bumfukks don’t keep track of that. He’s not on TV being partisan. He just works. He isn’t Republican-lite, he’s legitimately a better option.

Florida and Ohio (and Texas for that matter) Dems can’t grasp that. They don’t want to talk to the people. Rarely having protégés, but using younger people as acolytes, they sap the life out of State DNCs. They don’t have fight unless it involves dollars instead of words. They stay on the teat of fundraising because they are only held accountable by who they let in the door.

I can only HOPE Jamie Harrison leans on state parties and have them clean house and bring in new blood. There is absolutely no reason Stacey Abrams should have had to create an entire organization outside the purview of the party to do what the party should have done all along.

Hmmm . . . I'm thinking this is the better tact for Progressives. It keeps you off the radar of Centrists and Republicans and you aren't a lightning rod. I like the squad a lot but maybe being on the national stage all the time taking arrows and dishing them out isn't that effective.

Florida is still winnable, Ohio no

Ohio has basically taken the same path that Missouri took. Missouri was once the quintessential swing state. Now it’s never even close there.

no offense to him but dude is often a permanent debby downer about the dems
I’m really not. If anything I’m realistic about what they do and are about. This is based on looking at their history. I’m also looking at their reactions to the oncoming threat of fascism and authoritarianism, and it seems like they are sleep at the wheel.

I don’t think it makes any sense saying any state is not up for contention because voters are too stupid to know what’s good for them. Well tell them what’s good for them and how you can do it and how these people haven’t given you that. Make the case instead of falling back on spreadsheets. Ohio is a labor heavy state and many of them abandoned the Dems because Dems said fukk labor. The GOP offered all the ‘cisms and Dems haven’t tried to counter that because they aren’t catering labor anymore.

Biden has been good this first week, but a lot of work needs to be done to repair this nation.

You're not really saying much aside from the fact that a black woman will do worse than a black man because of MAGA?

Cool
