Wu was DEFINITELY not 9 generals in the beginning and RZA told them this. He specifically told them that for those first five years he was the one in charge and called the shots.

He should have definitely spoken to Dirty first but its already heavily implied that around this time Dirt was starting to show that he was a loose canon and I can imagine that RZA thought he was doing him a BIG solid by getting him a deal where he’d own his Masters. Thats a deal that NOBODY in their right mind passes up.
Deals like that are very rarely given out.

Yea he wanted to be on Def Jam but would you rather play your whole career for the Yankees and never win any championships or play for the Mets and win multiple

yeah that was some foul shyt he did to dirty and signing to loud without telling anyone. Wu is supposed to be 9 generals

In the beginning, it was a dictatorship. This was always known. He'd make all of the decisions...business and music wise...which is what got them to the top. Hell, with all of those strong personalities, they would've never got ish done if it was a democracy. The ish they hated, and now openly complain about, is the ish that propelled their careers. He always used to change beats on songs after they recorded. But now they openly voice how they hate that. For instance, Meth didn't hear that final All I Need beat until he heard the album. He said he didn't even record to that beat, and liked the original one better. BTW - he still hates that song to this day.

You know what I find interesting is that we never really knew how much Ghost was involved as a Wu-Exec in those early years. Granted, Ghost was hustlin with Divine & RZA at that time (before RZA stepped away completely) and always around, so that money along with Power's bread was funding the business...but in all of the early interviews and such, you never hear about Ghost in the meetings, Ghost in on the decision making, or anything. Was he an exec solely due to the funds, and just being there to help create.

I think it was even after that....like after Meth's album. He's said before that he wasn't writing like that before Cuban Linx.

But as musically inclined as he is, I'd at least think he be at least sittin in when RZA was working on the music, or at the round tables with them, learning the business, like how Power was. Then again, it does make sense with how his career turned out, and him being crazy...and no matter what, when things get tough he always goes back to RZA to help him out. Another reason him winning the law suit made 0 sense.
