yep, it's (lambrusco) an italian sparkling red, and every time i've had some it was served chilled.
i don't see a lot of it around very often and the stores i frequent never have a great selection on hand. but there is a restaurant near my old apartment in gramercy/flat iron area (manhattan) called via emilia and they have a very nice variety of it. great spot. i miss nyc
from what i understand it's produced in a variety of tastes across the tannin spectrum so you can get some that are really sweet, some that are more dry and everything in between. i personally don't know them well at all though so when i go to that spot and order it i always defer to the server.My homie said its a sweet red wine maybe i'll give it a try then
never had Lambrusco. i do have a dessert recipe that calls for it tho...when i get a chance to make it in a few months.... i'll let u know what i think of it.
