You guys are probably going to hate me for this but I loved it

I know I know. Everyone wanted a dark venom movie. But here’s the thing: venom is goofy as fukk. He swings through the city saying he wants to eat brains and sings to himself as he does it. He can go from being horrific to being silly as hell. And that’s exactly what this movie is. It’s not perfect by any means. It’s a little longer than it needs to be, the cg is shoddy at times, the bad guy’s plot comes through way too late, and it’s weak.

What saves it, is the tone and hardy

I remember reading about an early script where the symbiote just body hoppped across a variety of people throughout the film like The Thing/ Alien hybrid. I would not have liked that tbh its too derivative of other sci-fi tropes that we know at this point. You can't say that the Venom in this movie doesn't match the one in the 90's comics and the 90's cartoon.

Yeah exactly. Venom now? Nah. But the venom everyone supposedly loves and cherishes? That’s this venom on screen.

Plus the movie was based on the 90's Lethal protect and planet of the symbiotes arcs.
Hopefully, they get a better script that keeps the focus on Eddie and Venom's relationship for the sequel because that's the element that really made me like the movie.

Saw this. Felt very disjointed. The enemy plot was weak and came in too late. I was expecting a darker tone to the movie. I hope P2 has Carnage involved

Finally watching. Venom is one of my favorites. I had/have no expectations, but an hour in and it’s just okay. It’s picking up now, but god damn it took so long.

The story could have been better. First act was basic AF and uninspired. Hardy is cool as Brock, but I really couldn’t give a damn overall.

This shyt was pretty weak. Cgi absolutely horrendous. Hardy is good in some scenes but in others seems like he should be in a totally different movie. Flick also seems like it doesn't take place in the real world. Upgrade was much better.

Would never watch again.

Yeah as bad as it was I don't think any movie last year was as terrible as the predator. What a waste.

Yea, this shyt is like Aquaman and Captain Marvel for me.....I saw it for the culture and dope visuals....but wont be re-watching because...well its forgettable as fukk. Checked all the boxes for a standard super hero flick.....but that about it. Standard aint enough for me no more.....I need WW 84' to be good to great. Shazam was good as well...but thats mostly because Billy Batson origin doesn't make for the typical origin story....DC got lucky lol
