I was supposed to go to the Louisville game this past weekend but was laid up with a bad back... I knew Lamar Jackson was gonna go off against our sorry defense, though. Funny thing is I didn't even realize Chizik wasn't the defensive coordinator anymore until they showed a shot of his replacement in the coaches' box.
I think Fedora has to go if this season goes off the rails; the defense has been horrific for too many years. Still wish we'd have hired Paul Johnson back in the day when we had the chance. He's a NC native and would have crawled to Chapel Hill to coach there.... We wasn't about to contend for national titles anyway, but I think the Rams Club dudes got stars in their eyes with Butch Davis, who couldn't even beat State.

fukk that. i wouldnt watch unc football anymore if we ran that gimmicky, dirty offense.
i know unc isnt gonna win a title in football in my lifetime but there is at least like a 1% chance that things break right for us (kinda like 2015). georgia t doesnt have even 1%. give the big time teams a month to prepare for the option and theyre cooked in the playoff. i would rather struggle a bit like this year than place a definitive cap on our program's ceiling that comes with the triple option. and i say that as someone who is desperate for us to fire fedora and has been for years
Is anyone else concerned that nobody pulled the trigger on their commitment these last two weeks (mainly Nasir Little or Josh Nickelberry)? I'm worried Roy may have over played his scholarships. We have Zion, Romeo, and Little all "prioritized" for what's looking like one scholarship left. Roy could've done without one of the big man projects he took on with the 2017 class and just pocketed the scholarship. Now we have this small dilemma.

Who do you realistically see us going after if Fedora is let go? I really don't see us getting a top tier coach in football, even though we've been looked at as a "sleeping giant" ever since Mack Brown left (thanks, dikk Baddour). I think we're destined to be a stepping stone type of job where we get some up-cand-coming coordinator or coach from one of the lower conferences, and if they're good, they'll get a call from a "football school"

I hear you. That's why I mentioned Little and Nickelberry. I think we whiff on Romeo and Zion...which means its really Little's scholarship to take. Nickelberry is all but UNC, but I'm wondering what's taking so long to pull the trigger.
nickelberry is 2019 so not worried there. his coach says he is taking all 5 of his ov's. plus we're doing real well with wendell moore already. may come down to who takes that offer first a la coby/dotson. moore seems to be waiting on a duke offer but i dont think it is coming. tons of time for that class to come together
little is going to pop for us but he's always been consistent in saying he wanted to take all his ov's. duke is our biggest competition for him but them getting reddish probably means there isnt a spot for him. obviously zion and romeo are pipe dreams but romeo has scheduled an OV and roy has an in-home with zion this weekend at which point we may see him schedule an OV.
i think this class ends up being leaky/coby/little/days which would be an incredible class. not counting out shyttu either

I thought our numbers only allowed for 3 takes this class if Cam leaves? We're at 13 now with only Theo and Joel leaving for sure. That opens up only 2 scholarships (Leaky and Coby). I wonder why Roy gave a Rush a scholarship when he knew we'd be up against the numbers trying to land any combination of Zion, Romeo, Little, Simi, or Days?
shea is just a year to year thing
he wont have one next year. he just got one this year because we had an extra one that won't be used.
so that gives us a min of 4 because there is no way that cam and jalek are both back next year. and if they are, a senior cam and soph jalek is better than any one and done guy we would get
