and he got into the transfer market this year with cam and has us right there as a final 4 contender yet again

could easy bust off 4 final 4's in a row. roy is catching a second wind. the ncaa shyt kinda beat him up and he seemed to be looking towards retirement but now he's killing it again and looks like he'll be coaching for another decade

This crop of kids were a blessing for Roy and restoring his joy in coaching. Marcus Paige might be the most "important" player in this chapter of UNC basketball. In the midst of this NCAA nonsense, he was an honor student that was a leader and re-set the culture in the locker room. The amount of buy in Roy got from that kid and the ability of Marcus to get the team to follow his lead was one of those "soft factors" most fans and/or pundits don't give credence to. I can't imagine Roy dealing with this with the PJ Hairston's of the world or a malcontent like that turn coat McCants was. He'd probably be ready to ride into the sunset with Wanda by now. But Roy is having fun again and I agree, I think this is pushing that retirement date further out than he probably originally planned.

my man. he is one of the most important players in unc history (along with brice to a slightly lesser extent). they kept our heads above water in some dark times for the program and saved us both on and off the court. joel berry has a chance to be the most decorated player in unc history but there is no joel or theo or title last year if not for marcus paige and what he meant to this program. if ever someone deserved a title, it was him. they changed unc basketball for the better and despite overwhelming roadblocks from the ncaa and on the recruiting circuit have single handedly drug us into a golden age of unc basketball. get this ncaa shyt settled and we're in for a truly special final decade of the roy wiliams era

just reposting because i am always here for some marcus love

that class was supposed to include durant too btw. kd had every intention of signing with us but had already agreed to an ov with texas so he stuck to his word to take it with the intent to sign with us after it. obviously never happened

ehhh taking wright over kd wasnt some outrageous move. wright was dominant for us. obviously kd was dominant for texas but he wouldnt have had the ball that much at unc

the more painful part is how great it would be for recruiting to finally have another all star that played at unc. not having kd on the 2007 heels (fukk georgetown i wanted a shot at those overrated florida dudes) doesnt make me mad. not having kd as a unc bball alum is the bad part

People talking shyt in the comments...but they hating since they know we going to the final four again this year!

Five-star prospect Nassir Little commits to UNC

Five-star prospect Nassir Little, No. 14 in ESPN 100, picks UNC

Five-star prospect Nassir Little committed to North Carolina on Wednesday.

Little, a 6-foot-6 small forward, chose the Tar Heels over a final five that also included Georgia Tech, Duke, Arizona and Miami.

"I just love coach [Roy] Williams," Little told ESPN. "He really cares about the players off the court, which is important. They're a basketball school, which is something I wanted to be a part of. Coach Roy really knows how to win. I love winning. I really do. And that's important to me."

Arizona and Miami were considered the favorites for most of the past couple months, but both schools were mentioned in the FBI investigation last week. Little's AAU program director, Brad Augustine, was one of the men arrested.

Shortly after the news broke, Little said he removed Arizona and Miami from consideration.

"For me, I just didn't want to be mixed in a situation where any of the accusations seemed like it was true. Because it wasn't," Little said on Wednesday. "Every school I was considering was because I had a genuine interest in them. North Carolina had been the school I wanted, regardless. I just block it out. They can say they want. I just focus on myself, and do what my heart desires."

Little's AAU program, 1 Family Hoops, released a statement on Twitter last week separating Little from the investigation.

"We would like to address the allegations against one of our families," the statement read. "The Little family did not ask for, nor were offered money by any institution or individual. They were completely unaware of any of the alleged offenses that may have mentioned or contained their son's name.

"There is not one single player in our program, nor family member of any player, that had any knowledge or discussion about payments being made in regards to making a college decision. We stand by this 100% and will allow the truth to come out as this process unfolds."

Ranked No. 14 in the ESPN 100, Little slots in as the No. 4 small forward in the 2018 class. He averaged 17.6 points and 7.5 rebounds on the Adidas Gauntlet circuit this spring and summer, vaulting into five-star status in the rankings. Little is also a high-level defender who can guard multiple positions.

"They're looking at me to play immediately," Little said. "They're losing a wing in Theo Pinson. They need another tall, athletic wing that can come in and make plays. They want me to be that guy."

His ideal comparison at the NBA level is San Antonio Spurs star Kawhi Leonard.

"Just the way I play at both ends," Little said. "Offensively, very versatile. I can shoot the 3, midrange, post up smaller guards, athletic, finish inside. And defensively, I play with toughness and motor that most people don't have."

Little is North Carolina's third ESPN 100 commitment in the 2018 class, joining four-star guards Coby White (No. 25) and Rechon Black (No. 48). The Tar Heels are also one of the few schools remaining for elite forward Simi shyttu (No. 6). shyttu will visit Chapel Hill in November.

Williams has now landed at least one five-star prospect in five of the past six classes.

here is what happened imo.

little was a big unc lean. but that doesnt mean anything. theo wanted to go to duke. quinn cook wanted to go to unc. it isn't like us fans where we would kill to play for roy. they may be fans but they have a business decision to make.

miller has been really good with getting guys drafted highly. obviously that is mainly a self-fulfilling prophecy because great players will get drafted high rather they go to zona, unc or unc-wilmington. but its how these kids think. sherrell posted a lengthy inside look at the commitment. he said little was very, very impressed by miller's in home visit and how he projected to use him.

this is where the aau coach comes in. was he shopping him around? absolutely. but that doesnt mean the little family was involved. there is no evidence that zona actually offered him money but even if he did, the aau coach can take that money and get in little's ear about why zona is a good fit and push him that way. he doesnt have to pay little a dime. he just has to use his position as a trusted adviser to push him towards zona. he essentially was misled into zona despite not being paid. so once it broke, he decided it was the best move to just eliminate them so there wouldnt even be a question of his character and go with where his heart really was instead of the misleading push from his aau coach.

in summation, nasty nas is clean and will be eligible
