bones certainly has a lot of things going for him against johnson but rumble's got such stupid, ridiculous power that it changes everyone's game-plan. it changes their mindset. it changes everything, really. and not only that, when anthony johnson wants to blitz you, maybe you're hurt, maybe he sees something...whatever the case, you're fukkin' dead. cuz he will hurt you (if not lay you out clean). and once he does, he will bomb on you until the ref stops him. that shyt is scary, even if you are jon bones jones.

rumble's not just all power and speed either..his technique and timing and such is there as well. plus it looks like he's got a pretty good chin too cuz gus actually hit him with some decent shots but he just ate them and moved on.

i think bones' strategy would be that he uses his height and leverage in clinch range, mostly working him against the cage...and probably takes him down and then goes from there.

It's called hype. Phil Davis was and is currently doing the same thing.

it's called talking shyt, you give some, you get some

its all good except when jones gets the last laugh huh

fukk that double standard shyt, gus was disrespectful and jones had every right to that tweet

jones ain't talk shyt on Machida, shogun, teixeria, and Vitor, they were respectful

rampage, Rashad, sonnen, cormier, and know gus, fair game, he was just responding to their shyt talk

I understand what you're saying. But, I just don't see any of the fighters you mentioned (except maybe Chael) who would talk shyt to an fighter right after a brutal loss.

I agree. I would just add that if I'm rumble's camp I will definitely work on TDD. As long as jones doesn't get rocked early he'll wait until rumble is gassed & go for the takedown & win. Rumble reminds me of a younger rampage & at this point I wouldnt bet against jones.

And my favorite :banderas: Remember how this

turned into to this?

more specifically
I have fought both worse and better opponents. Had that (Johnson) fight taken me somewhere, I would have been the first to accept. Since his return to the UFC after being kicked out, he has beaten Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, who passed his expiration date a long time ago, and Phil Davis. He needs at least a couple wins more. We are not in the playground anymore, it's not about who is the toughest, it's about my career. I want to have a long and successful career. You have to think tactically and you can't just go in and swing against the first best opponent.

we are all witnesses :wow:

Funny thing is I still think Gus has the best chance at beating Jones out of everyone

Jones (and Jackson gym as a whole I think) have been training with Freddie roach, so even if Gus won tonight the gap between their hands wouldn't be as impactful come fight night if the squared up again. Jones had shown progress in that department vs Cormier.

Otherwise I don't know what Gus has for current Jones.
