Why must everything turn into boxing vs mma? :skip: you nikkas prob debate over batman vs superman too

There is no debating......

Batman with prep :smugfavre:

I had it 3-2 gus, but after watching it again I say 3-2 jones.
I'm a jones fan but considering I thought Gus was gonna get taken down and subbed by the 2nd, I have tons of respect for him. He definitely made a "not quite human" Jon Jones look human last night.

I been watching this shyt longer than you
Rampage is not picking up shyt, he never faced an athlete like Jones in Pride or UFC period
all them pride guys could not survive in today's UFC even in their youth, the athletes have got better and will continue to do
Rampage actually improved in the UFC, the Rampage Jon Jones beat is way better than the Pride Rampage, if you think otherwise
your dumb as fukk, just because he power bomb some bum ass nikka

Shogun had none of the strength in UFC he had in Pride, he was not old when he got to UFC, you don't lose strength that quickly
speed maybe strength no, you can't say it was because of knee surgery, power is the last thing to leave a fighter same with wandy

What are you an idiot that knows nothing about training, if you had knee surgery you can't do no heavy training for months. your knees/legs are your support system, if your knee is jacked up how u gonna be doin squats, and dead lifts in the gym. Dude has no strength because after every fight he was out for 6 months gettin acl and mcl surgeries. i am some1 who has actually played professional sports and have trained with a lot of fighters, knee injuries have a bigger impact that you would think. Shogun in UFC can bearly move, he is half the man he was in Pride due to the scalpel.

Only thing Rampage improved in UFC was his wallets, go back and watch Rampage's fights in pride he was a more all round fighter, with takedowns working ground and proud. When he came to UFC he merely relied on his stand up and counter punching. It was all he needed as the LHW division at that time didnt have any great stand up fighters, so he feasted on em. Who did he beat when he came to UFC Marvin Eastman 1st fight, Chuck who he already schooled in pride. who's next Hendo and wandy former pride champs. where's these world class ufc striker's, oh yeah I forgot he beat jardine, lol. In UFC the higher the weight class, the more wrestlers dominate, Bones Jones, GSP, Cain and now Weidman. Silva was the truth and respected because he was one of the few world class strikers to stave off these wrestlers for so long. The lower weight classes have some great fighters that don't get the shine they deserve, like a Aldo, Barao, Pettis.

Round 1: Gustafsson
Round 2: Gustafsson - Could go either way but Gustafsson was checking Jones kicks and landing good shots
Round 3: Gustafsson

Round 4 and 5 to Jones
No... Gust won round 1. Gust won round 3.

Also, don't underestimate kicks to the head... Don't overestimate takedowns that result in the person popping right back up like it's not shyt.

I been watching this shyt longer than you

Its funny, you say you've been watchin dis ish longer than me, then you say straight bs like Rampage never got submitted till Jones which is a straight up lie. Sakuraba subbed him in Pride many years ago, which just shows you only a UFC stan, u aint know ur MMA ish.

look at Rampage, he isn't an elite BJJ, he ain't an elitle wrestler either even thought thats how he kinda started his boxing is severely limited but he was knocking out top guys, he went his entire MMA career without being submitted, until he was overpowered and over matched
by the bigger stronger Jones

lol, its funny ur name is Master Teacher but between me and mowgli u've been the 1 getting schooled. y'all acting like mma never existed before ufc, lmao.

The main event was great but it's a shame it's taking away from the real highlight of last night

 jackson probably went up to jones after the result like ''what'd i tell ya? raise your hands at the end of each round, not just the final bell. that really drove it home, jon. psychology, jon.''

:lupe: at this being jones first non-antique title defense.

Yeah that was the biggest shocker, that Jones wasn't able to drag Gus down. But after seeing how Gus was stuffing him, and how easy Gus got back up the 1 time he went down, he clearly looked like Gus was just physically stronger than Jones. A lot of those stuffs were jus arm strengeth and underhooks and jus throwing Jones off. I've never seen a fight where Jones looked so weak, and his punches were doing nothing to Gus and it seemed in the early 4th he realized this, and started throwing elbows. Besides that spinning elbow, he started throwing elbow jabs a lot more, you do that as a figher when you realize the other guy is quicker to the jab than you, and your punches are hurting em.

Huh? Jones always throws those elbow jabs. That's just what he does. He likes throwing those. They do more damage than punches.

But anyway good fight. Not sure how much time Jones had to take off from the gym because of his broken toe but he was lackluster last night. Im sure he will train harder for the next fight.
