One more important thing that people need to mention is, gus STUFFED 9 out of 10 jones take down attempts!!!!! That is a big deal in mma when a fighter can do that & should be worth a lot of points to judges. I don't usually buy that "take the belt from champ" theme, but in MMA it's true. I think from a technical perspective gus was outstriking & busting up jones. I don't get the 49-46 score.

It's not, Judges really don't seem to value TDD highly

I thought gustafsson won the first 3 rounds, but UFC judges on their best boxing bullshyt make it so the challenger cant win on points. There was a point in the 4th round where gus was out on his feet tho, he definitely suffered a concussion so i could see that one going 10-8. At best it was a draw. 49-46 tho? The mafia still exists cuz there were some crazy odds for the challenger...

if anything this fight was hurt by the boxing last week, people arent gonna spend money for two ppvs in a row.

and a massive boxing match always beats a massive mma match in terms of hype..


great great fight, had jones 2 4 5 though it seems like no matter the sport there's always gotta be that -one- judge that people end up focusing on. jones won the fight by maximum 3-2, that elbow really turned it around, he was losing the 4th too.
