:yeshrug: I had Gus winning the first 3, but the judges lately don't want to let the challenger win these close fights against the champion it seems, they seem shook and unsure of there decisions that they might fukk up.

I wonder what would have happened if Jones DIDN'T kill Gustafson at the end of the 4th...

Wake.
Ultimately Gus lost the fight in the last minute of the 4th. He was controlling that round and would've been able to coast to a victory in the 5th but he fell apart and the 5th became the deciding round which he clearly lost.

UD though? :wtf: 49-46 :wtf: Goddamn UFC judging is so fukking terrible

ufc doesnt hire judges, thats up to the athletic commissions who hire people who are NOT that knowledgeable of the sport...a lot of boxing/kickboxing dudes in there..there should be a push for more old school MMA guys in there like duke roufus, pat miletich, randy couture etc

as far as the fight goes

i remember saying to myself that jones won round 2...and i think he clearly won 4 and 5..at best this shyt shouldve been a split decision victory by jones, but i think alexender showed that he has the tools to beat jones...he damn near beat him in this fight, it couldve gone a draw and everyone would be happy

he just gotta work on his conditioning, and that probably swayed some of the judges for those last 2 championship rounds

had Alex 3-2 hope people fall back with that he can beat Cain/Junior talk. I'm starting to buy into him being dominant by fighting smaller guys

Jones ain't a real fighter, shows you just how much of sham MMA is that this guy could come in be champ and dominate
he is decent athlete who went up against terrible athletes, Gus haJd very little boxing skill and was picking him apart
he did get hurt by some kicks, but he really ran out of gas at the end of the fight

I always wondered why a pro fighter like Jones said his brother a pro football player could beat him in a fight
man, jon's gonna fukk around and get KO's when he faces a guy with solid boxing
You sound ignorant. Its all about styles. Jones is a wrestler that learned how to strike. Mayweather could not last in MMA because hes so late in learning how to grapple. Its hard to master disciplines of striking, ground game and striking/grappling defense and put them all together into being a complete fighter. You gotta show these guys more respect. Step away from your bias towards MMA and realize that. Gus is an amateur boxing Champion, so i think saying he has little experience, is unfair to Jones, and Gus. Jones brother was heavy into wrestling before Football and my understanding is that hes still nice with it which is probably why jones is sayin that. Jones will never face Mike Tyson with Olympic level wrestling and Gracie black belt level Jiujitsu so you're always going to have something to complain about when it comes to MMA. Your dream fighter doesnt really exist.

I've been saying all along Jones would beat the bottom rung HW's but he ain't fukkin with Cain or JDS they'd both destroy him.

The D (where it's so cold)
:yeshrug: I had Gus winning the first 3, but the judges lately don't want to let the challenger win these close fights against the champion it seems, they seem shook and unsure of there decisions that they might fukk up. But, :obama: we need a rematch ASAP. They both are stars and bigger now than before. One of the best title fights I have ever seen easily.

C/S. UFC judges have a habit of favoring the champ when it's very close especially if it's a title fight.

Thats what so confusing about the unified rules. Does the late elbows negate everything earlier in the fourth? Does the head kicks and TD late in the 5th negate all the stuffed takedowns and striking in early rounds? Might as well just have pride rules where what you do in later rounds matters the most

you nailed it. ... that's pretty much it, once Jones rocked him and started kicking him in the head at will i'm sure the judges disregarded the rest of the fight. I don't have an issue with the champ getting the duke because I think you as a challenger should have to take it with no doubts, i'd say Gus won it if I were a judge but he didn't finish it and it wasn't definitive enough of a stamp to be mad that he didn't get the decision.

i'd pay for the rematch, these cats will fight again.

That huge spinning elbow in the 4th was the deciding factor. Gus was on his way to a clear victory before that.

Please Dana, do we really need to see the Glover fight immediately? We need a rematch asap.:damn:

No apparently one judge gave the earlier rounds to jones so the 4th really wasn't a deciding factor. I always said jones biggest advantage was his length, imo gus did a lot of great countering & blocked a lot of head kicks.

One more important thing that people need to mention is, gus STUFFED 9 out of 10 jones take down attempts!!!!! That is a big deal in mma when a fighter can do that & should be worth a lot of points to judges. I don't usually buy that "take the belt from champ" theme, but in MMA it's true. I think from a technical perspective gus was outstriking & busting up jones. I don't get the 49-46 score.

Jones has always been fighting at a weight class smaller. Jones @ LHW= dominant for the most part. Jones @ HW= average...
