Im not even mad at that opinionAfter Covid and Insurrection, I definitely think Trump is worse than Bush. I never thought I would say that.
Trump was actively trying to hurt the people he was sworn to protect.
Sitting stuck like a duck aint the way to act when you hear the country is under attackTBF, I think Bush reacted the only way you could at that moment
If he stormed out of that classroom on camera, people would have said he wasn't good under pressure or some other wild shyt
There are very few ways someone could react to "Sir...the country is under attack...they've flown planes into the WTC"
That said, I'm not about to sit here and compare Bush to Trump...they were both objectively awful Presidents and have had huge detrimental effects on this country that are visible today and will be for the foreseeable future
I think the problem is more that MAGA and the right media pundits are usually feeding off each other. Which is what the larger GOP constituents hear.I wonder what GOP’s internal polling is showing regarding MAGAS as a % of their party.....
Since the election trump has slowly been loosing his people...
I’m not saying a mass exodus but shyt even a 1-2% drop is fukking huge...

I mean expect Fox News to start going at Biden with what sounds like Breitbart talking points after they spend a few weeks licking their wounds.

Yup, I laid out three similar points in the other thread. No other president was failed in as many roles as Trump.
There has ALWAYS been a version or two of those mindsets you've listed within the GOP, hell if you listed the Democratic party you could go on for even longer, the real split is those insane MAGA fukks and everyone else. This is a good point and def a possibility. The GOP is at an inflection point with their party.
You have the Lincoln project Romney GOP which have obviously been pushed more left post election.
More moderate/populism people who agreed with trump policies but not trump himself.
The insecure MAGA Cacs who loved trump due to his “idgaf even if I’m the president” demenor.
the full fledged white supremacists.
The Q people
then ofc the “im a down ballot republican no matter what”.
The GOP can position themselves to retain most of these groups.... but it’s going to be real hard to retain all of them.... which one do they cut loose?

That's a lot to take in at the time, people tend to exaggerate that like he sat there for hours or something, he was almost immediately moved to some wild bunker somewhere with his family and WH officialsSitting stuck like a duck aint the way to act when you hear the country is under attack
You politely excuse yourself, and walk calmly out the door

The National Review sucks, but it had time today.
