And you know why Republicans do that? So they can tell you the government doesn’t work and you don’t want them to help you, meanwhile they extract your money and “rights” (the ones they ALLOW you to have when it’s convenient for them) and then not help you and attempt to break anything that could.
It’s really sick of what’s happened since the Civil Rights Act. You basically went from the end of Reconstruction until that point in history with the government ODing on helping the average white person, being lax on the immigration of the current average white person’s ancestors, and only enforcing the full rights of one race.
And when the Civil Rights Act happened, the government showed they could do something tangible for black people without “helping” white people and now it need to be destroyed. And we can’t help anyone else either.
These current yahoos don’t understand they couldn’t tell you how the government is supposed to function because if they knew they would be asking “So, wait why aren’t you helping us like you did before? Why aren’t you helping us keep white supremacy intact? Why are we only worried about big business and corporations? Why are you allowing them to infringe our rights?”
They’ve been kept for knowing how the government was meant to work so long (while viewing obstruction and policy that doesn’t work) that we all end up in a situation where a person who is just as ignorant as them gets elected and tells them how he thinks the government should work and they believe it. And that’s ultimately how you end up with Wednesday.
The first attempted coup in our lifetimes is gonna go down as followers of the ruling government attacking the ruling government under the instigation of the ruling government.....with no actual plan on how that was gonna affect the new majority that ain't even gonna be in power for another two weeks.
This quote has stuck with me. Because you have people who don’t believe government can help/can work electing people who tell them it doesn’t work/shouldn’t help. These people still want control of the very system they hate and think is failing. They elected people who had 2 years to fix the entire system and all they did is cut taxes for the rich and businesses permanently and for everyone else temporarily (and they rise to the point they will be higher than they were before) while ending up in court and losing on just about everything else. (BECAUSE IT WAS ILLEGAL, UNCONSTITUTIONAL AND TERRIBLE)
Trump was gonna do all the things they wanted until he didn’t...... so let’s attack the people WE elected to keep them in power of the government that doesn’t work because we don’t want the people who say they can make it work and discard the very thing we say our beliefs are based on: The constitution of the United States. Why?
They are outnumbered by people who think we can make this work.
