Also mens volleyball is a club sport at most colleges (Only 23 D1 schools offer volleyball scholarships and they are limited to 4.5 scholarships per year). So there isnt much payoff in terms of scholarships either so little motivation to push your son into it.

And its another discrimatory sport.
I'd love to play some volleyball but it got height requirements and shyt.

I outta include them in my lawsuit against the nba now that I think bout it :ld:

This is the issue and why I asked why it wasn’t a male sport at the HS Level. And it’s only a few colleges with male teams as well

The reason why volleyball isn't bigger among males here in the US (outside of the "girl sport" perception) is:

*Volleyball isn't as "flashy" as football or basketball.
*Professional volleyball players aren't making millions like NFL/NBA/MLB players.

If you want to go deeper, it's really because of Title IX. Schools that receive federal money, which is basically every school including private, have to have the same amount of male athletes as female athletes or they may lose funding.

Because there's no real female equivalent for football with its huge rosters, that makes fringe sports get less full-ride scholarships or get cut on the men's side like volleyball, tennis, gymnastics, and even wrestling. It's actually why we dominate a lot of women's sports around the world since other countries don't fund women's sports as much.

So yeah it's about popularity but even dudes who are interested in volleyball have to deal with the lack of support.

Why I don’t watch women’s national soccer

She was being best friends with them during the team final and today she was cheering for them while Suni was out there trying to bring home gold.

I have to wait for a stream replay to show you but it was when they were competing on the balance beam and Uneven bars

@J Money

Edit: Turns out it was the entire American squad :hhh:

Here it is

Lol, it’s called sportsmanship. And these girls compete against each other each year in world championships, some even train together as a few of them come here for training or college, I’m sure plenty of them are friends or at least respect each other.
