Yes in the NBA for the Washington Bullets

Watching Rui in FIBA ball is a bit eye opening

He gets up when he goes against people like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Luka Doncic.

so start building around him & not Beal right :mjgrin:

not even trolling either...he clearly has more upside going forward to impact both sides of the floor over whatever Beal offers you now offensively

She was being best friends with them during the team final and today she was cheering for them while Suni was out there trying to bring home gold.

I have to wait for a stream replay to show you but it was when they were competing on the balance beam and Uneven bars

@J Money

Edit: Turns out it was the entire American squad :hhh:

Here it is

When Rui is Brad's age i.e. 28... you think he'll be Kawhi lite?

This is the issue and why I asked why it wasn’t a male sport at the HS Level. And it’s only a few colleges with male teams as well
The reason why volleyball isn't bigger among males here in the US (outside of the "girl sport" perception) is:

*Volleyball isn't as "flashy" as football or basketball.
*Professional volleyball players aren't making millions like NFL/NBA/MLB players.

Also mens volleyball is a club sport at most colleges (Only 23 D1 schools offer volleyball scholarships and they are limited to 4.5 scholarships per year). So there isnt much payoff in terms of scholarships either so little motivation to push your son into it.

I mean I don't really do those kinda comps for young players, especially ones who I haven't extensively watched...but what I've seen from Rui even in these Olympics only, he looks much smoother on offense than Kawhi does. Some of them fades are very Jordan/Kobe-esque.

Defensively, it's hard to say another player will be what Kawhi was with San Antonio or the Raptors, and even now in flashes in LA but I think, you first have to put a strong defensive team around Rui. As great as Kawhi was, he did come up under Pop's coaching, and have Tim Duncan as the defensive anchor...then in Toronto, he had Gasol as the defensive anchor, Ibaka, OG, and dogs in Lowry & FVV...even now that LA team on paper is good defensively too.

But the future is certainly very bright for Rui
