A professional female gymnasts' career is extremely short (with few exceptions). The Olympics is the holy grail for gymnasts - they have nothing else to fall back on. Also, once you're pass the age of 22, you're consider to be old for gymnastics.

Simone Biles is 24, she's even said that her teammates have sometimes made jokes about her being "old".

yeah like 99% of gymnasts are done after one olympics, two if they are lucky unless you're representing one of those bum ass countries where you can keep milking it.

Plenty of olympic athletes have kids in the midst of their careers. If anything, getting preggers at the Olympics is the best outcome since you’ll likely be heading into your off season. You can start training for the next year of competition after you’ve given birth and have 2.5 years to get back in top shape for the next Olympics
