Real talk it's easier to list the olympic sports where the Olympic Games are not the premier international event:
- Golf
- Tennis
- Football/soccer
- Baseball
- Road Cycling

for the other 30 sports it's Olympics >>>

I'd add rugby and skateboarding
But that's about it

All international competition is a way to make money. The Olympics are the biggest money spinner there is in sports. They are hosting these games with no crowds during a pandemic just to make money. :dwillhuh:

And you can ask Divac and Stojkavic if they would trade their World Championship gold medals for an Olympic gold medal, the answer will also probably be no.

:usure:

of course they would

come on breh

You’re wrong. With respect to soccer the federations care about the World Cup, then next importance is the continental cups (copa America, Africa cup of nations, gold cup , etc ). Olympics ranks 3rd, federations do not care about it.
OK, I already know that. You seem to be misunderstanding my point.

The Olympics and FIFA World Cup are the pinnacle of international sports but there's a difference.....

The Olympics = the pinnacle for sports overall (with a few individual exceptions like soccer, tennis, baseball, etc)

FIFA World Cup = the pinnacle of soccer/football.

By virtue of soccer/football being the most popular sport worldwide, the World Cup is massive and is the only international sporting event in the same category as the Olympics. That's what I'm saying.

This American beach volleyball player is 45 :damn:
How he still got ups? :jbhmm:

Seems like all them beach volleyball players are old. Dont know whats the deal but it seems like a sport where you get the job and can just sit on it. Is it because raw athleticism is minimized due to sand? Or does that shyt not pay so the younger folks are trying to play indoor overseas?

“Beach volleyball age is different from basketball or football age,” 39-year-old Gibb recently wrote for The Players’ Tribune. “You’ll see pros playing late into their 40s. For one thing, I think playing on the sand is therapeutic. You’re landing on a forgiving surface as opposed to a hard court, so your joints aren’t taking the same beating day in and day out. But more than that, it takes a long time for the entire skill set to develop in beach volleyball. It’s a sport where you need the full array of skills.”

Beach volleyball, because it’s a game of shots and smart plays. I think the longer your career is, the more experience you have, the better off you are.
