The Matrix trilogy came out before it's time. #2 & #3 would be much more appreciated in today's era where people discuss the storylines of movies, share
their theories which spread much faster thanks to social media. Granted the storylines for #2 and #3 were more convoluted than the first, but they serve to tell
a grander story which ties into #1. Back then the only people talking that in depth about these films were on forums. So the general public wasn't engaged and
informed in a community way as they are today. Also, to date, no other movie has brought new ideas to the table in terms of action sequences in the way the
original trilogy has. Even if the CGI doesn't hold up as well, what the directors and the original team tried to do was ground breaking (Burly Brawl and the final fight in Revolutions) and we've yet to see that level of creativity in movies since. So I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on this new film because they
were visionaries.

The OG matrix was a great [stolen] concept that was poorly executed as a story. This became evident in 2 and 3. The idea of the matrix >>>> anything from the overarching plot.
