'The Matrix 4' To Cast Younger Morpheus Instead Of Laurence Fishburne

According to Variety reporter Justin Kroll, Warner Bros. may be looking to cast a young version of Morpheus in the film which could allude to where in the timeline the fourth Matrix will take place.

Seems my instincts are right. They are probably splicing together story elements they had developed for the PREQUEL with Michael B., and combining them with the new story the Wachowski developed to make this Matrix sequel. And most likely will have Michael B. play the young version of Morpheus. I'm assuming that time travel will be involved in this story, since it will have Keanu and Carrie.

So basically the Matrix franchise is The Terminator now?

Not buying the "Young Morpheus" rumors fully. That was the story before they realized maybe a prequel might not work. Yes they could do some flashbacks maybe but They are clearly going the "Force Awakens" route with a new Team and the original Big 3 having to guide them. Sure you can still bring in Michael B Jordan and have him maybe be a new "One" or a younger One. If Lawrence isn't in it that would be so stupid and makes no sense. He's like the Obi-wan of the Matrix. No young actor can pull off the nuances that Laurence has with explaining the depth and mythology of the Matrix.

I don't think people understand that Laurence was the BEST ACTOR in the 1st Matrix. Keanu was cool but he wasn't doing the talking like Laurence was. They can do flashbacks sure and show a young Morpheus but overall Morpheus has to be back in this. I know Laurence is older and yes he's gained weight over the years but he is key to "Matrix 4" being the Billion Dollar success I know it can be is have Neo/Trinity and Morpheus all back. (Box Office Fact: No R-Rated Film has ever grossed a Billion Dollars. "Deadpool" 1 & 2 and "It" all got close but didn't do it. Back in 2003, "The Matrix Reloaded" gross over 730 Million Worldwide. It actually adjust to over a Billion Today.).

My thing is if they are Rebooting Morpheus than make it a Prequel straight up. You can't bring Neo and Trinity back from the Dead but leave out Morpheus who actually was the LAST SURVIVOR of the Big 3 in the Main Trilogy. Technically speaking, Morpheus left the series alive and well. Again I trust the Wachowski's to come up wit a good concept but I don't know if I agree with the "Men in Black 3" approach of having a Young and Old Morpheus. I'm open to Flashbacks sure. Again, I'm fine if they do a "Godfather II" like film that shows Morpheus' origins, that's cool. But Laurence not being in Matrix 4 makes no sense sorry. Listen to this dialog? Look at this masterclass of acting. Laurence was GOAT Status in this movie: He should of gotten an Oscar nomination.
