You say this because you're conceding there was nowhere for the story to go which was my exact point. Him being the one was a means to an end. It was his origin story. Saying his origin story should stand alone is unusual. People ultimately wanted to see where the story went next and let their imaginations run wild with potential for a story that really had no potential. It's like the Fox show Prison Break. Once they broke out of prison there was nowhere for the story to go and the series struggled. That's The Matrix. the characters and world they wrote had no real potential past that origin story.Disagree. The main conflict of the film was Neo accepting whether or not he was "The One." That arc was completed by the end of the film. Him saying at the end "I'm going to show them a world without rules" to me was better left to our imagination than the Wachowski's attempting to show what that would look like. Because it's pretty much inevitable that it would end up disappointing people, which it did. The first Matrix had a tight structure. The sequels are where things got unnecessarily convoluted and sloppy. Believe me, I was hyped af for the Matrix Reloaded as a teenager but looking back, the Matrix really didn't need a sequel and you could tell the Wachowski's were forcing things at that point.
Me saying I personally like Reloaded better than The Matrix strictly for the action set pieces isn't a shytty take it's a personal preference. Personally I wasn't too crazy about the original movie. Again I only like these movies for their action set pieces not their story because I really don't care about the characters and world of The Matrix. The main 3 maybe a little but outside them everyone and everything else is irrelevant to me. If I'm not getting crazy over the top action from these movies I'm out.The shytty takes, reloaded is better than the og matrix? Yeah I will never enter this thread again
