It was how they wrote the script, Niobe was close to a 100 with that 60 year time skip that was put in, so Morpheus would have been long dead, along with Link, Locke, Roland, Ghost, all of them.

But LF said he wasn't invited back to the sequel and no one told him why.

Yet they sought to replace him with a fruity/metro version of Morpheus.
yeah it's just stupid
make a game no one remembers canon and then use the excuse that he's too old to fight
but then make a time skip in the film that makes Lawrence Fishbourne's current body make sense in the film

The company signed off on this so they approved of it. Anyway this is pretty much guaranteed to not get a sequel. Nobody involved wants one from the producer to the director to the actors. They have all said there are no plans for any more movies. Also this flopped hard so that should lock it in as a dead franchise. I doubt this will even recoup it's budget.

The crazy part is:

A studio that is on top of their shyt could make a dope Matrix movie.

Lets say if the Russo Bros and MCU team tried to make one. I bet it would be amazing

The crazy part is had they done a proper HBO Max series instead, it could have driven so many people to the service.

Dumbasses killed the character off in a game most people never played. The game is canon. :snoop:

HE DEFINTELY DIDNT DIE
THE SAME WAY HE DID IN THAT
VIDEO GAME THAT PPL
WERE CLAIMING IS CANON.

Morpheus, along with a number of players who chose to join his faction, set about trying to reconstruct Neo’s Residual Self Image — his digitally generated avatar within the Matrix — as a way of hopefully resurrecting him. Frustrated by his failure to do so, Morpheus began demanding the Machines to return Neo’s body. With no other options, Morpheus then began detonating “code bombs” across the Matrix, compromising the integrity of the simulation as a whole as a way of forcing the machines to comply with his demands.

After setting off one of the code bombs, Morpheus was ambushed by the Assassin, a program created by Machines, and killed. Some players at the time theorized that Morpheus might have faked his death and gone into hiding, but this theory remained unresolved at the time of The Matrix Online’s cancelation in 2009.

THAT ANGLE WOULD HAVE ACTUALLY
ADDED VALUE TO THIS MOVIE.

THEY MIGHT AS WELL HAD
AN OLD ASS MORPHEUS IN
THIS SINCE THEY DIDNT USE
THE VIDEO GAME ANGLE.
