might as well check it out and see if you like it or if it's too much like star wars for you.

I never knew Lucas is involved in the series. Really? Intriguing.
Nope. Every single shot contains at least one "easter egg", but everything that happens in this show is pretty straightforward. It takes place in a time period in the years between trilogies, far away from any locations or characters we've seen before.Do I need to watch star wars to watch this?

Even if you've never seen a single Star Wars movie, if you live in 2019 you've absorbed enough about Star Wars from popular culture that you already know MORE than enough to watch the show.
Basically:
-The guys in all white armor are Stormtroopers. They used to work for the evil space Nazi government run by a magic space wizard who was overthown and killed 5 years ago.
-Now the whole galaxy has turned into space Max Max/Old West world. Any government that exists is weak and located on the other side of the galaxy.
-The Space Clint Eastwood guy with the metal helmet is from a race of human warriors that were once cloned to create the first Stormtroopers, but he himself is probably not a clone.
-Space Magic is called "The Force". At the time and place this story takes place, the average person hasn't see any of that and probably considers it to be a "hokey religion". And "Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side"
-If you see a green Muppet, it should be self-explanatory that its magical.
That's pretty much ALL you need to know going into this.

It was a good ep but nothing more than that, mostly because the plot was paper thin. All those shyt films must have lowered people's standards for Star Wars, lol.
‘The Mandalorian’ Could Be the Best TV Western Since ‘Justified’this first episode was fantastic. I love Pedro Pascal's portrayal of the Mandolorian. It's like a mixture of Judge Dredd, Clint Eastwood and Raylan from Justified. Excited to see where the series goes with this, the end though interesting...
