He seems like a fukkin nut. And singing seemed to be his passion. Plus I can see him being tired of playing a gangster all the time. I'd like to see him in a comedy again.

To be honest, I'm just fresh off the Irishman so it's hard to put it in that perspective, but it's top tier Scorcese.

They know how to shut off their emotions to do the dirty work
It's all part of the business
That's how they can kill a lifelong friend of 30 years and then go home to their wife and children as if nothing happened

(Some) people wanted fast dialogue, funny characters..more glamour..but like I said 5 pages ago: that was never his goal for this picture. The Departed and Wolf of Wall Street are different type of movies.

this is one of his best since Casino imo..the character study is amazing

Real reflective, meditative shyt. I was expecting a fast moving, loud mob flick like his past stuff but what I got was a welcome surprise
