Silence was a great movie, and a strong addition to Scorsese's much underappreciated religion focused films (The Last Temptation of Christ, Kundun).

The movie cost 200 million!

So yeah they will be busting those gats.

New York critics just got out of the screening. Early reactions seem very, very positive. Twitter reviews tend to be a bit hyperbolic though.

I'm excited to the see the movie. But all the talk of the movie having a somewhat comedic tone is a little worrisome.
