Mahershala Ali would have been too young to play Gordon. Gordon is supposed to be old enough to be Batman's father. Bring back J.K. Simmons for the role.

Tracee Ellis Ross is 46 years old though...this movie is going with younger versions of these characters like around early 30s-late 20s.
So they will probably be looking at actresses like Nathalie Emmanuel or Logan Browning.

Age aside, neither of them could hold a candle to Ross in the talent department.

I didn't think Ledger was a big question mark but many people did they just remembered him from romantic comedy shyt. This is looking like the same thing. I don't know how great Pattinson will be as Bruce but he is a great actor. He has already shown that. If the script is good, he'll put in work.
