Speaking on Catwoman. I'm not against Hudgens in general but in terms of this specific version and what he's supposedly aiming for, I don't see it.

I doubt it. She’ll probably be in the mix but if they’re going to pull from the female, white British actress well, they can get a bigger name than her.

Emilia Clarke or Sophie Turner would get more headlines than Kirby. Even Knightley would bring headlines.

There’s definitely going to be some clout casting for some of the villains ala Will Smith.

I can see that. I think you’re right about the direction tho. He seemed to play him as a guy who was just at his wits end and was tired of the bullshyt. I believe that’s purposeful though. Batman begins he was full of vigor and couldn’t wait to start the mission. Seemingly in between films, that shyt started to weigh on him. And with fighting a different threat in joker, one he couldn’t use his martial arts skills on and one who had real stakes for the city, the performance should be different.

It’s a much more quieter and thoughtful performance in dark knight than Batman begins and I think it comes down to preference. It’s like Daniel Craig in casino royale vs skyfall. Same character but at different stages of life and completely different stakes. I prefer casino royale but I don’t think what’s he did in skyfall is bad at all.

Eh. I get what they were going for, but it still didn't land for me either. His "at wits end" came off silly at times.

Bale's roles during that time probably played a part in that though.

He went through so much physical/emotional change for roles. The Machinist, Batman Begins, Rescue Dawn, 3:10 to Yuma, The Dark Knight

He just sounded exhausted at times in the film.

Just spinning in my head thinking about it being a detective story and misdirection being a staple of that kind of narrative.

I really hope the Clock King ends up being the main villain. I think his gimmick lends itself to being a manipulator and putting Batman through obstacles since he would study his moves and thinking enough to fool him into thinking it's one of his main rogues.

Bale's roles during that time probably played a part in that though.

He just sounded exhausted at times in the film.

And I’d say the exhaustion was the role. He played dark knight like a man who had one foot out of Gotham.

His whole thread in that movie is trying to find a way out because of Harvey dent. He’s ready to not be Batman anymore.

Nah. If you see her movies her eyes always have a certain level of emotion behind them.

I dont give a damn who playing Batman. As long as we can finally get a movie full of Batman doing batman like action/fight scenes like we had with Affleck did in BvS I'm good.
