Movie theaters here have been open since June, a bunch of movies actually getting releases now because of the blockbuster drought they feel they'll draw more audiences even at limited capacity. So Tenet wouldn't even be the first movie in many places, just the first "big" movie. Of course Nolan the clout chaser really wants that title of being the filmmaker who brought audiences "back" to the big screen.:russ:

Wonder Woman 1984 is still set to release on October 2, 2020
No Time To Die is still set to release on November 20, 2020
Black Widow is still set to release on November 6, 2020
Mulan is still set to release on August 24, 2020
Soul is still set to release on November 20, 2020
Candyman is still set to release on October 16, 2020

I'm expecting all of those to be pushed back to 2021 but as of right this morning they still have those 2020 release dates.
Call wonder woman Black widow and soul better than TENET brehs

if i was Netflix, i'd be partnering up with studios to premier new movies on some PPV type shyt right now...even if it's just a quick cash grab for the next 6-12 months

If I was amazon I’d be trynna one up them and beat them to the punch:lolbron:

Netflix is the king and everyone so focused on Disney+ and Hulu

So I’d come through with the BIGGER bag like

I kind of want this to do well, it's unfortunate that the movie with a black lead is caught in limbo like this.

:francis:

And y'all should stop suggesting straight to demand, Nolan is a true cinephile and will demand this be released in theaters. He and his wife actually have the sway to pressure Warner Bros to do just that.

i wonder what would happen if they just dropped movies on demand. It's time to move on It's 2020 what's the point of a movie theater.
They'll loose a ton of money that way. Movies make way more money from ticket sales than on demand/streaming. They would lose like a 2/3 of what they could have made in theaters if they just dropped it on demand.

Start at around 3:20 to see what would probably happen if theaters stay closed until 2021.

Maybe, but I also thing everyone closely watching the others moves
Amazon probably has the platform that would be the most ready, between their servers, global user base and payment model. its the only one that isnt purely subscription based when it comes to transactions

theyd be a fool not to if you ask me...this is the time for disruption.

cause i dont think the experience watching a movie in theatres is that much better than at home if you have a 45+ inch TV and decent sound . not to mention the ability to pause, be on a comfortable couch, have privacy with a shorty/your friends, etc.

only downside is that

1)for first dates, shorties might not be willing to come to somebody's spot for a movie premier
2)ppl might invite 20 ppl over to watch a premier and only pay for one person vs everyone buying a ticket...so movie pricing would be pretty key

:manny:

just my take

Breh said "Bigger and better films" than Tenet already pushed back to next year

This is the message I replied to, not the one about "Bigger and Better films" and my focus was on the movies he said had been pushed back significantly which actually haven't been yet:
I know how this forum is so I'm not getting into debates with deluded Nolan stans on quality. I'm not a fan of his shyt at all.

But Bond, Marvel, DC and Pixar have all pushed their films significantly back. These will all make as much money if not much more than TENET.
