I know it was all about how the kids weren't sh*t, spoiled, not competent, etc. But I think the biggest obstacle for them, especially Kendall, was that they weren't Logan -their father. Yeah they had their issues and Kendall was unsure about himself and a recovering drug addict, but low key dude was a business heavyweight in his own right. Logan was the massive ultimate titan badass in the media industry so naturally whoever was going to take over the company, family or not, would be deemed as inferior and not on par with Logan. Kendall and Roman knew their sh*t and could hold their own in board meetings, negotiations, new strategies, buyouts, etc. Plus trying to do the job with their father's long time ceo's and business partners who only believed in Logan didn't help one bit.
I believe this show is inspired by Rupert Murdock and his family who ran Fox TV and Fox News so Roy kids were indeed heavyweights in the game. Hell in this final season I just realized that they had a major movie studio under their wing on top of everything else
This wasn't a couple of burger stands, this was a behemoth foundation of a company they were trying to control and keep in the family. The show focused on the kids L's and insecurities but they were far from bubbling idiots. Kendall looked silly at times like when he was trying to sell the retirement home concept to the share holders but again, that was his late father's ideal and business venture that he was trying to see through and make it a reality. If he could do his own thing, get rid of his father's old regime, and get some younger cutting edge minds around him, I can definitely see him taking Waystar-Royco into the future. IMO, It was just that their father's shadow and rep were just too big for them to follow and it crushed them
