These concepts have been discussed. I think the reason that so many favored legislation was because then you can get new funding to cancel out the lost revenue all in one bill and you can fix the college tuition issue, which makes it seem like a wholesale reorganization of higher education that benefits everyone. However, I do think he will have to use executive power.

I know some people will be salty after they paid their loans off but it's like, bro, you paid it off at least, you ain't gotta worry about it, live the rest of your life. Alot of these people made this decision really young with a lot of pressure. I should've dipped out of school once my junior year was up, I didn't care what I was studying, all my friends were far as hell, the campus didn't look the same and had too much of a different feel, but I stayed for the degree and added 5k of useless debt on it. I'm at 14k now so fortunately I can get this paid off in the next 1-3 years but if I had this mistake erased from me that's half my down payment on my house.

we have gone thru this, this is a credit/service, there are tons of credits and services most people don't qualify for, yet we all pay taxes toward them. i dont use SNAP, nor live in public housing/use section 8, nor have kids in public schools, nor draw SS, nor have a kid using medicaid, etc...yet no one is asking for non recipients of those programs to get checks
