Chuck Schumer supports wiping out $50,000. I would prefer all student loan debt be forgiven, but I will take it. This is something that will make a real difference in people lives. We will more than likely have a Republican senate, so this is probably one of the best policies that we can realistically hope for during Biden first (and probably only) term. Also shoutout to all the progressive activists/candidates that helped to make this a mainstream policy agenda for the Dems.
That grad debt is a bytch. It was a catch 22. Either don’t go to grad school and be stuck at a dormant position/salary, or go to grad school and make more money, but be saddled with a ridiculous amount of debt. I choose the latter
Joe/Dems might actually get more young people to the polls if they do this.

I saw a thread on r/Enough_Sanders_Spam where they were mad Chuck Schumer said this. Talmbout, "How dare you talk about executive orders without checking with Biden first, a$$hole?"

do it via executive action and when the republicans take it court to stop it, you have an argument in the mid-term of why republicans need the boot.
Trump via executive order suspended student loan payments in August through end of this year.
A Dem POTUS could argue that authority plus Trump canceling debt for 25,000 vets is one and the same.
He has been opposed almost every step of the way. The two rich donors in his ear about it even said it bothers them that he doesn’t support it even though it’s their pet issue. I’ll believe it when I see it. I’d love for Joe to surprise me.do it joe

Way too early for a prediction like that. Besides it is hard to picture him running at 82 years old.
